Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my hair lately, trying to find a new look, you know? My face is kinda square, which is cool and all, but finding the right bangs has been a bit of a struggle. I finally decided to just go for it and experiment, and I want to share what I did.
First off, I did a little digging online, just to get some ideas. I found out that curtain bangs are pretty popular for square faces. They’re like these soft, parted bangs that frame your face nicely. And then there’s the whole ’70s-style choppy bang thing, which also sounded interesting. They are not too tidy. I also read somewhere that asymmetrical bangs can look good, too. The idea is to kind of balance out the angles of a square face with something a bit softer or more uneven. That was what I thought.
So, armed with these ideas, I started playing around. First, I tried the curtain bangs. I basically just parted my hair down the middle and cut the front sections a bit shorter, letting them fall to the sides. I used a trimmer to trim them a little bit. I trimmed the hair a little longer than I thought I wanted, then trimmed a bit more. It actually turned out okay! They really do soften up my face, I think. They make my face look not so wide and big.
- Parted my hair in the middle.
- Cut the front sections shorter.
- Let them fall to the sides.
Here’s what I did:
Then I got a little more daring and tried making them a bit choppy, going for that ’70s vibe. I just cut some random pieces shorter, making it look a bit messy on purpose. I made sure not to cut too much, and I checked the mirror many times during the process. This one was a bit more fun and edgy. I like to do something different, I like the new look.
- Cut random pieces shorter.
- Made it look messy, but in a good way, I guess.
For the choppy look:
I even tried the asymmetrical thing. I cut one side of my bangs shorter than the other. It’s a bit out there, but I kinda like it. It’s definitely different. I think it suits me.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how things turned out. I mean, it’s just hair, it’ll grow back, right? I did this at home, just do it! But it’s been fun experimenting, and I actually found a couple of styles that I think work for my square face. The curtain bangs are probably my favorite. They’re just so easy and they make me look a bit softer, which I like. Anyway, that’s my little hair adventure. Maybe it’ll give someone else some ideas. Oh, one important thing I learned is to avoid heavy, blunt bangs. They just make my face look wider. Trust me on that one, don’t do it!
