Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to share this for a while now, and since I’m finally getting around to it, let’s dive in! It all started when I was scrolling through social media and saw a picture of Colman Domingo at the Met Gala.
I got really interested in this event called the “Met Gala.” It’s apparently this big fashion thing that happens every year in New York City. And this year, this guy Colman Domingo showed up looking absolutely amazing. I mean, his outfit was designed by this Willy Chavarria person, and let me tell you, it was something else.
So, I started digging around to learn more about this whole Met Gala deal. Turns out, it’s not just any party. It’s a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. What blew my mind was that every year has a different theme, and everyone who goes is supposed to dress up according to that theme. Like, can you imagine the pressure?
This year, the theme was something related to the Costume Institute’s exhibition, I think they said it is “The Garden of Time” which is kind of vague, but people seemed to have their own interpretations. Anyway, everyone was expected to follow it. Colman Domingo’s outfit, though, it was designed by Willy Chavarria. From what I gathered, this designer is known for some pretty bold and unique stuff, so it made sense that Colman’s look was such a standout.

In the end, I might not be a fashion expert, but I can appreciate the artistry and creativity that goes into the Met Gala. And Colman Domingo, well, he definitely nailed it this year.
