Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to do this project for a while now, and I finally got around to it. It’s about this 1970 Barracuda car I’ve been working on. Yeah, sounds fancy, but it was more like a big puzzle.

First off, I started by just looking at the thing. It was in rough shape, I’m not gonna lie. I mean, this car’s been around for over 50 years! I spent a good few days just taking it all in, figuring out what was what. I took a ton of pictures, too. You never know when you’ll need to remember how something was originally put together.
Then, I got down to business. I began taking the whole thing apart. Sounds crazy, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Every bolt, every screw, I bagged and labeled them. I even drew little diagrams so I wouldn’t forget where stuff went. My garage looked like a bomb went off in there, parts everywhere.
Next up, I started cleaning. Years of grime and rust. It was a mess. I used all sorts of stuff, wire brushes, special cleaners, you name it. And let me tell you, my arms were killing me after a while. But it was worth it. Seeing those parts shine again, it was like magic.
After that, I had to fix some stuff. Some parts were just too far gone. So, I spent a bunch of time looking for replacements. That was a whole other adventure, let me tell you. Online, junkyards, swap meets, you name it. I felt like a detective, tracking down these rare parts.
Once I had all the parts I needed, I started putting it all back together. It was like building a giant jigsaw puzzle, except with greasy parts and heavy metal. I followed my notes and diagrams, and slowly but surely, the car started to take shape again.

There were definitely some tough moments, I won’t lie. Times when I wanted to throw in the towel. But I kept pushing. And finally, after a lot of sweat and maybe a few tears, I got it done. She’s a beauty, that 1970 Barracuda. It is not just a car, but a good memories of mine!
- Started by assessing the condition and taking lots of pictures.
- Disassembled the entire car, carefully labeling and organizing every part.
- Cleaned every part meticulously, removing rust and grime.
- Sourced replacement parts from various places.
- Reassembled the car, piece by piece, following my notes and diagrams.
It was a heck of a journey, but I’m so glad I did it. I learned a ton, and I ended up with a car I’m really proud of.
