Okay, so I saw this picture of Princess Diana wearing a Harvard sweatshirt, and I just had to have it. It’s such a cool, unexpected look. I went on a mission to recreate it, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
The Hunt Begins
First, I scoured the internet for a similar sweatshirt. I mean, finding a Harvard sweatshirt? Not the hardest thing. But I wanted one that felt vintage, like Diana’s. It couldn’t be too crisp and new.
I checked out a bunch of online stores, you know, the usual suspects. No luck. Everything looked too…modern. Too perfect.
Thrift Store Adventures
Then, it hit me: thrift stores! So, I spent an entire Saturday digging through racks and racks of old clothes. I tried on a few that were close, but nothing felt quite right. Either the color was off, or the fit was weird, or it just didn’t have that worn-in vibe.
Finally, at the very last store, tucked away in a corner, I found it! A slightly faded, perfectly oversized Harvard sweatshirt. It even had a few tiny, almost unnoticeable stains. Perfect!
Styling It Out
Now, the sweatshirt was just the beginning. I needed to figure out the rest of the outfit. Diana was wearing biker shorts, which, thankfully, are back in style. I already had a pair, so that was easy.
- Grabbed my favorite pair of black biker shorts.
- Threw on some chunky white sneakers – gotta have that sporty element.
- Added some simple white socks.
I considered adding a baseball cap, like in some of the pictures, but decided against it. It felt a little too costumey for me.
The Final Look
I put everything on, looked in the mirror, and…yes! It felt so effortlessly cool, just like Diana. It’s comfy, it’s casual, and it has that little bit of unexpected preppy-ness with the Harvard logo. It is definitely going into my regular rotation.
It was worth all of the effort, totally worth it. My own little bit of Princess Diana style.
