Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this… this… uh… Met Gala thingy. Yeah, that fancy dress-up party in the city. Folks call it the “Met Gala,” sounds like some kinda soda if ya ask me.
So, this Lady Gaga, you know, the one with the wild outfits and loud singin’? Yeah, her. She weren’t there this year, 2024. Nope, not a peep from her. People were all gossipy, wonderin’ where she was at. Said she was busy filmin’ a movie, somethin’ about a joker. Sounds like a load of hooey to me, but what do I know? She probably just didn’t feel like goin’. Can’t blame her, those city parties are probably a pain in the rear.
- They say she ain’t been to this shindig since 2019. Five years! That’s a long time to be avoidin’ a party, even if it is full of them fancy-pants folks.
- Maybe she got tired of all the fuss. All them cameras flashin’, people starin’… I’d get tired of it too. Give me a good ol’ porch swing and a glass of iced tea any day.
Now, they say this year, 2024, lots of other folks weren’t there neither. That Rihanna girl, the one who sings all them catchy tunes, she skipped it too. And some fella named Jared Leto, and another one, Billy Porter. Heard Ben Affleck wasn’t there neither. Seems like half the town stayed home. Maybe they all had a potluck to go to instead.
This Met Gala, it’s all about the clothes, ya see. Crazy clothes. This year, they say folks were wearin’ next to nothin’. Showin’ off their bellies and… well, you know… everything else. Even the fellas were showin’ off. Land sakes, what’s the world comin’ to? Back in my day, you covered up proper. But these city folks, they got their own ways, I guess.
They got this red carpet thing too. It’s like a long, red rug they walk on. And everyone just stands there and gawks. I reckon it’s like a parade, but without the horses and floats. Just a bunch of people in fancy get-ups, struttin’ their stuff. Makes ya wonder what they do with all them clothes after the party. Probably just stuff ’em in a closet and forget about ’em.
Lady Gaga, though, she usually makes a big splash at this thing. They say she’s known for wearin’ some real wild outfits. Stuff that makes you scratch your head and say, “What in tarnation is that?” But I guess that’s her thing. She likes to be different. Can’t fault her for that, I s’pose. But still, sometimes I think she just wears that stuff to get folks talkin’.
Anyway, this year, no Gaga. No Rihanna. Just a bunch of other folks in their see-through dresses and whatnot. The whole thing sounds like a circus to me. But hey, to each their own, right? Me? I’ll stick to my overalls and my garden. That’s more my style. Less fuss, less bother, and a whole lot more comfortable.
So, that’s the lowdown on this Met Gala 2024. Lady Gaga wasn’t there, lots of other folks weren’t there, and everyone wore next to nothin’. Sounds like a whole lotta hoopla for nothin’ if you ask me. But hey, that’s just my two cents. You city folks can have your fancy parties. I’ll be right here, on my porch, sippin’ my tea and watchin’ the fireflies. That’s entertainment enough for me.
And you know what? I bet Lady Gaga’s probably doin’ just fine, movie or no movie, party or no party. She’s a tough cookie, that one. She’ll be back next year, probably wearin’ somethin’ even crazier. And folks will be talkin’ about it all over again. That’s just how it goes, I guess.
