Hey there, everyone! Let’s yak about this… this “atlas vougue” thing, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh? Like somethin’ them city folks would blabber about.
So, I heard on the TV, yeah, that little box in the corner, they was talkin’ ’bout fashion. Fashion! Can you believe it? Me, a plain old woman, talkin’ ’bout fashion. But it ain’t just them skinny models on the TV no more. It’s, like, everybody’s wearin’ stuff, right? So, this “atlas vougue”, I reckon, is about what’s hot and what’s not in the clothes world.
Now, they got these things called “trends.” Trends! Like, what everybody’s wearin’ this season. One minute it’s all big, baggy pants, the next it’s them tight things that look like they gonna bust open if you eat a big meal. This “vogue” thing, seems like it tells ya all about them trends. Like, what shoes to wear. I heard ’em sayin’ somethin’ ’bout “clack clack” shoes bein’ back. Sounded like horse hooves to me, but what do I know?
- Shoes! They sayin’ some made of “suede” is good. Don’t know what that is, but sounds fancy.
- And coats! Gotta have a new coat for the fall, they say. Like the ones we wore back in the day weren’t good enough!
Then there’s them bags. Bags! We used to carry our stuff in aprons or baskets, but now they got bags made outta everything! Heard ’em talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “raffia.” Sounds like somethin’ you find in the barn, but I guess it’s stylish now.
And those fashion magazines, oh lordy! They got a whole bunch of ’em. American Vogue, British Vogue, French Vogue, Italian Vogue… sounds like a whole world of clothes talk! They call ’em the “Big Four,” like they some kinda important people or somethin’. They jabber on about “haute couture,” which I guess is just real fancy clothes for rich folks. And they got beauty tips too, like what kinda face paint to slap on and how to fix your hair. Lord knows my hair ain’t never been “fixed” in its life, and it’s done just fine, thank ya very much.
They even got this Vogue magazine in Australia too. Seems like everybody everywhere’s worried about what they’re wearin’. It’s all about “style,” they say. Style! Like, lookin’ good, I guess. But style to me is wearin’ somethin’ that keeps ya warm in the winter and cool in the summer. And somethin’ you can move around in, ya know? Can’t be doin’ chores in them fancy clothes they show in the magazines.
They got folks called “insiders” who know all the secrets about fashion. And they give “style tips.” Tips! Like, wearin’ this color with that color, or this kinda necklace with that kinda dress. I tell ya, it’s enough to make your head spin. My tip? Wear what’s clean and what fits. That’s the best style there is.
This “atlas vougue,” it’s like a big ol’ map of fashion, I reckon. Tellin’ ya what’s hot all over the world. From them fancy shoes to them fancy bags, to all them different clothes… it’s a whole new world out there, folks. But me? I’ll stick to my comfy clothes and my good ol’ shoes. Fashion’s fine and dandy, but comfort’s king, I always say. And you know what else? Bein’ yourself, that’s the best fashion there is. No matter what them magazines say.
So there ya have it. My two cents on this “atlas vougue” thing. Hope it made some sense to ya. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go tend to my garden. Them tomatoes ain’t gonna pick themselves, and they sure don’t care about fashion, that’s for sure!
And remember, clothes are just clothes. It’s what’s inside that counts. But if ya wanna look nice, well, I guess that’s alright too. Just don’t go breakin’ the bank over it, ya hear?
One more thing! They talkin’ about fashion “seasons.” Like spring, summer, fall, and winter. Seems like ya gotta change your whole closet every few months! Lord have mercy, that’s a lot of laundry! Back in my day, you wore the same clothes till they wore out, and then you patched ‘em up and wore ‘em some more. But I guess that ain’t stylish no more.
Anyways, I’m done yappin’ about this fashion stuff. Gives me a headache just thinkin’ about it. You folks go on and enjoy your “atlas vougue”, and I’ll stick to my overalls and my garden. That’s my kinda style.
