Alright, so the other day I was super hyped about this new Bob Marley movie, “One Love,” coming out. I mean, who doesn’t love Bob Marley, right? His music is just timeless. So, I thought, why not make a playlist of all the songs featured in the movie? That way, I could get even more into the Marley vibe before the film hit theaters.

First things first, I needed to figure out what songs were actually going to be in the movie. I did a little digging online and found out that the music is basically a mix of Bob Marley’s original recordings. Apparently, the actor, Kingsley Ben-Adir, did sing and play guitar for the role, but they blended his performance with the actual recordings. Pretty cool, huh?
Then I started hunting for a list of songs. I stumbled upon a couple of different playlists that people had put together. One of them had, like, 99 songs! It was massive. It had this “Red Dead Redemption” tag on it for some reason. I guess they were going for that raw, rebellious vibe. Another playlist I found was shorter, with 38 songs, and it seemed a bit more focused on the actual movie soundtrack.
So, I started listening through these playlists. Of course, they had the big hits like “One Love”. I mean it is a classic ska tune, I read that it was written by Bob Marley and recorded by the Wailers back in 1965. I also found “Three Little Birds”, you know, the one that goes, “Don’t worry about a thing.” It is a good one, super chill and it’s probably his most famous song. I saw someone mention it’s from the 1977 album Exodus and was released as a single in 1980.
After a while, I realized that I wanted to create my own version. I grabbed about 17 songs that I thought were the most iconic and would really capture the spirit of the movie. I put them in an order that I thought flowed well, kind of like telling a story through the music.
- Started with some of the more upbeat, feel-good tracks.
- Then moved into some of the more politically charged songs.
- Finished with some of his more spiritual and reflective tunes.
It took a bit of time, but I was pretty happy with the final result. Now, every time I listen to the playlist, I feel like I am taking a little journey through Bob Marley’s life and music. It’s definitely getting me even more excited to see the movie. I can’t wait to see how they use these incredible songs to tell his story on the big screen. It’s going to be epic!

My Final Thoughts
Creating this playlist was way more fun than I expected. It is not just about the music, it’s about connecting with Bob Marley’s message of peace, love, and unity. I think that is something we could all use a little more of these days. And hey, if you are a Bob Marley fan or just curious about his music, I highly recommend checking out the movie and making your own playlist. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it!
