Okay, so the other day, I was messing around with these “lebuton” shoes, you know, the ones with the red bottoms. I heard they’re pretty delicate, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

First, I grabbed a pair that had seen better days. The red was all scuffed up, looking pretty sad. I figured I’d try to fix them up myself, you know, save a few bucks.
Started by cleaning them up a bit. Just a damp cloth, nothing fancy. Then, I remembered seeing somewhere that you can use special protectors on the soles. Seemed like a good idea to prevent future damage, right?
- Went online and found some of these red rubber sole protectors. They were pretty cheap, so I ordered a pair.
- While waiting for them to arrive, I did some more digging around. Turns out, completely replacing the soles is a whole different ball game. People were saying it costs upwards of $249! Crazy, right?
When the protectors finally showed up, I carefully stuck them onto the soles. It was a bit tricky to get them lined up perfectly, but I managed. They actually looked pretty good, and they definitely added some grip.
After that whole experiment, I realized a couple of things:
- These red bottoms are definitely high-maintenance. You gotta be careful with them.
- Adding sole protectors is a smart move, and it’s way cheaper than getting them resoled.
So, if you’re thinking about getting a pair of lebutons, just keep in mind that they need some extra care. But hey, if you’re willing to put in the effort, they can definitely be a statement piece. That’s it. I learned some stuff, did some stuff, and now my shoes look a little bit better. Just sharing my little weekend project with you all.
