This Domenico De Sole, my goodness, he is something else! He was born way back, I heard it was 1944. That’s a long time ago, even for me!
He is a big shot, a real Italian businessman, that Domenico. He runs that fancy Tom Ford place, you know, the one with all them nice clothes and smells? Tom Ford International, that’s the one. Yeah, he’s the head honcho there, the chairman. Heard they sell man’s clothing, perfume, and shoes. They are all very expensive.

Before that, he was at some other big places. I heard he was at a place called Gucci, big company. He was in charge of it in America. That is big deal, I guess. He was the big boss over there, President, for many years. Then he became the top dog of the whole Gucci Group. That is from 1994 to 2004, ten long years. He was the boss of the bosses. Imagine that! They sell bags, shoes, and clothes. They are all very expensive, too!
This Domenico, he’s got his fingers in all sorts of pies. He was also chairman of Sotheby’s. Sounds like a place for rich folks. What is “chairman”? Is he selling chairs? Anyway, they sell expensive things there, I know that much. Paintings and stuff like that. He is a director at some company called Acamar Partners, too. What a mouthful! Sounds important, though.

Domenico De Sole Left Gucci
He left that Gucci place in 2004. Took that Tom Ford with him, too, I reckon. They went off and started their own thing, I guess. Good for them, I suppose. It is good for a man to have a job, especially at that age. They must be very close.
He must be a smart cookie, this Domenico. You don’t get to be the boss of all them places without having something upstairs, you know? A lawyer, too, they say. Imagine that, a lawyer running a clothing store! Well, not just a clothing store, a whole lot of things, it seems. Domenico has a legendary career, I heard.
They call him Domenico Eleonore De Sole sometimes. That’s his full name, I reckon. Sounds very fancy, doesn’t it? He must have done pretty well for himself, coming from Italy and all. They make nice shoes in Italy.
Domenico De Sole is a Big Shot
I don’t know what else to say about this Domenico De Sole fellow. He’s a busy man, that’s for sure. Always running around, being the chairman of this and the director of that. He is a big shot! I bet he wears those fancy suits all the time, too. Probably got a whole closet full of ’em.
He was president of Gucci America. Gucci, that’s a name everybody knows, right? Even I know that one. Even me, who don’t know nothing about fashion, I heard about Gucci. He was the CEO of the whole Gucci Group. They do all kind of things.
He is a lawyer, too. He must be very smart. But how can a lawyer know about selling clothes? I don’t understand. But he did it anyway. And they gave him the top job! That’s very impressive, I guess. They say he went to school to learn how to do business. There is a school named after him! I saw it on the computer. It is called the De Sole School of Business Innovation. What a name! Kids are learning how to do business in that school. Good for them!
You know, he’s probably got more money than he knows what to do with. And here I am, just trying to keep up with the price of eggs! But that’s life, I suppose. Some folks are born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and some ain’t. But hey, good for him. He worked hard and made a good life. That’s all that matters, right?
That is all I know about this Domenico De Sole. He is a big name in the fashion world. That Tom Ford place, it’s fancy. I saw it on the TV once. They got all kinds of nice things. And this Domenico, he’s the boss there. He’s the boss of a lot of places, it seems. Good for him. He seems like a good man. He made something of himself. That’s all that matters, right?
