Alright folks, lemme tell ya ’bout this little project I just wrapped up. It’s called “a book of drawings,” and honestly, it was a real journey getting it done.

It all started ’cause I was bored, plain and simple. You know, that kinda “staring at the ceiling” bored. So, I grabbed a sketchbook I had lying around – one of those cheap ones with the thin paper – and just started doodling. Didn’t have a plan, just wanted to see what happened.
First, I just scribbled some random shapes. Like, circles, squares, triangles, the whole shebang. Then, I started adding lines to ’em, trying to make ’em look like something. It was a mess, to be honest. But hey, gotta start somewhere, right?
I kept at it, day after day. Sometimes I’d draw from real life – a coffee cup, a plant, my cat (who, by the way, is a terrible model). Other times, I’d just make stuff up out of my head. You know, monsters, spaceships, weird little characters. Anything that popped into my brain.
The thing that really helped me was not being afraid to mess up. I mean, the paper was cheap, so who cares? I just kept drawing, even when it looked like crap. And you know what? Sometimes, the “mistakes” turned out to be the best parts.
After a while, I realized I had a whole bunch of drawings. Like, a legit pile of ’em. So, I figured, why not turn it into a book? I mean, it’s not gonna be anything fancy, just a collection of my doodles.

I spent a few days organizing the drawings, trying to find a good order. I didn’t want it to be too random, but I also didn’t want it to be too structured. Just something that flowed nicely.
Then, I scanned all the drawings into my computer. This was a pain, lemme tell ya. My scanner is ancient, and it kept giving me weird shadows and stuff. But I managed to clean ’em up in Photoshop, mostly.
Next, I laid out the book in InDesign. I’m no graphic designer, but I know enough to get by. I just wanted it to look clean and simple, nothing too flashy.
I decided to print it through a print-on-demand service. That way, I didn’t have to pay for a huge print run upfront. I just ordered a proof copy to make sure everything looked okay.
And guess what? It actually looked pretty good! The colors were a little off, but overall, I was happy with it. So, I went ahead and made it available for sale.

Look, it’s not gonna win any awards or anything. It’s just a collection of my drawings. But it’s something I made, and I’m proud of it. Plus, it was a fun way to kill some time and get my creative juices flowing.
So yeah, that’s the story of “a book of drawings.” Nothing fancy, but it was a blast to make. Maybe you should try it sometime. You never know what you might come up with.
