Well, well, well, look at them young folks, always on their phones. Now they got these “influencers” thingamajigs, and they all want ya in their little group chats. Why, you ask? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t for your grandma’s cookie recipe, that’s for sure.
These influencers, they’re like the popular kids in school, but on the internet. They got all them followers, like little ducklings waddling behind ’em. And they want more, more, more! They want you in their group chats, yeah, that’s what they call ’em. Like a hen house, but with phones instead of feathers.
They say they give you special things in those chats. “Exclusive content,” they call it. Like what? Pictures of ’em putting on makeup? I seen better things in my chicken coop, I tell ya. They want your followers, too. More the merrier, make their group chats bigger, just like those fancy city folk likes the big city more and more people, more money, you know.

- Who cares?
- I got my own breakfast to worry about!
They also say you get “early product drops.” Like they’re dropping babies or somethin’. It’s just clothes and trinkets, ain’t it? New things to buy, that’s all it is. Make you spend your money. They is influencers. They want make money. You buy, they happy. They want you be followers.
They got these chats on that Instagram thing, and that TikTok thing, and that YouTube thing, too. Everywhere you look, these influencers are winking and smiling, trying to get ya in their group chats. They say, “Join my group, honey, it’ll be fun!”
They want you to talk to them, ask them questions. Like they’re some kinda movie stars. But they ain’t. They just got a phone and a lot of makeup, far as I can tell. They all influencers on Instagram, TikTok. They are everywhere. Every time you see them, they are on the phone. These influencers never put down the phone.
And those followers? They eat it up! They love it! They think these influencers are their friends. But it’s all a show, I tell ya. A big, fancy show. They are not real friends. Just like the TV, you know. All acting.
They say these group chats are a “community.” Like a church social, but online. Everyone’s sharing and caring. But I seen what happens when folks get together online. It ain’t always pretty. It’s like when the hens get to fighting over a worm. Not pretty, not pretty at all. They do everything to get followers.
They say these chats help them “connect” with their fans. “Fans”! Like they’re singing and dancing on a stage. They’re just talking on a phone! They are no different, just like you and me. Why they so popular? I don’t know.
These influencers, they’re smart, I’ll give ’em that. They know how to get people’s attention. They know how to make people want things. Want to buy things, want to be like them. It’s all about the money, honey. The money. All these influencers, they all want money.
They use these group chats to sell things. Clothes, makeup, you name it. They say, “Oh, this is my favorite thing in the whole world!” And then all their followers run out and buy it. Like little sheep. Baa, baa, buy, buy.
They even get famous actors in on it now. I seen it with my own two eyes. Famous folks on that Instagram, talking about their group chats. It’s a crazy world, I tell ya. A crazy, crazy world.
So why do these influencers want you in their group chats? Because they want something from you. They want your attention. They want your money. They want you to buy what they’re selling. They want more followers. More, more, more. That’s just how it is, I guess. The world keeps changing, and these young folks with their phones are changing right along with it. Me? I’ll stick to my chickens, thank you very much. They might not be as fancy as those influencer folks, but at least they’re real. At least you know where you stand with a chicken, I can get some egg from them. What can I get from these influencers? Nothing, I tell you, nothing.
