Okay, so, let’s talk about this whole Scentbird CEO thing. I’ve been following this drama for a while now, and boy, it’s been a wild ride. It all started when I stumbled upon some discussions online about Mariya Nurislamova, the CEO of Scentbird. You know, the perfume subscription service? Yeah, that one.

I was initially intrigued by the company. I mean, who doesn’t love trying out new perfumes? I even subscribed to their service back in, like, July 2022. It was cool at first. But then I decided to cancel in December. I sent them an email, which is apparently the only way to contact them. I never heard back. Nothing. Zero. Nada. That was a red flag for me.
But that’s not even the main issue. I started digging deeper into this Mariya lady, and things got weird, fast. There’s this YouTuber, KeyasWorld, who made a whole video about the shady stuff Mariya’s been saying. Apparently, she’s got some pretty out-there opinions, and people are not happy.
My Investigation
- First, I watched that KeyasWorld video. And, like, whoa. Mariya’s comments were definitely questionable. I was thinking like, “Is this for real?”
- Then, I found out that she launched Scentbird in 2014. Ten years ago, man, time flies. Anyway, I read that she’s been changing the fragrance retail game. Cool, I thought.
- But then, I saw this other video where she’s talking about, like, hearing the voice of God in a dream? And some other stuff that made my eyebrows raise. I was like, “Okay, this is getting a little too strange for me.”
- I also learned that she thinks aligning with your life’s purpose is the cure for cancer. And some stuff about Hitler. Yeah, it gets real dark. I don’t even want to repeat it.
- Lastly, I realized that my own experience with canceling my subscription, and this whole controversy surrounding Mariya, well, it just didn’t sit right with me.
So, I decided to share my experience and what I found. It’s wild to see how a company that started with a cool idea can get tangled up in such a mess. And it’s important for us, as consumers, to be aware of who we’re supporting. It’s a whole thing, you know? It made me think twice about supporting certain brands, that’s for sure.
Anyways, that’s my little journey down the Scentbird rabbit hole. I just wanted to put it out there for anyone who’s interested. It’s definitely been an eye-opener for me. And hey, maybe it will be for you, too.
