Okay, so, the other day I was messing around with this idea for a fun summer project, and I thought, “Why not make something that screams ‘summer’?” And what’s more summer-y than ice cream? Nothing! So, I decided to build this little thing I’m calling “Summer Scoops.”

Getting Started
First, I had to figure out what I wanted this thing to do. I pictured a simple display of different ice cream flavors. Just something bright, colorful, and fun to look at. I sketched out a few ideas on a napkin – seriously, a napkin! – and decided to go with a simple grid layout.
The Setup
I started by setting up a basic project. Nothing fancy, just some folders to keep things organized. I made one for the styles, to keep everything looking good. Then I created some files, also created file that would hold all the cool ice cream data.
I wanted a few different flavors. I needed to create the display for the flavors.
Building the Flavors
The fun part! I started to prepare some flavor data, I listed a few of my favorites:
- Classic Vanilla: The description was something simple like, “Can’t go wrong with the OG!”
- Chocolate Fudge Brownie: This one had to be rich, so I wrote, “For the serious chocolate lovers.”
- Strawberry Swirl: “Sweet and fruity, perfect for a hot day,” seemed right.
- Mint Chocolate Chip: A classic. The description? “Cool and refreshing, a minty masterpiece.”
Then I make the design, including background color and the layout.

Putting It All Together
I started displaying the flavors on the page, looping through my flavors and creating a little card for each one. And, that’s pretty much it!
The Result
I built out the page, making sure each flavor had its own little space, with its name, description, and image. It was simple. And it looked good. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s a small project, but it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. And now I have this neat little “Summer Scoops” thing to show for it. Definitely a good way to learn and practice the basic, and to beat the heat (at least mentally!).
