Okay, so I wanted to break down some of Kanye West’s outfits from 2016. I’m no fashion expert, but I thought it would be fun to try and recreate some looks and see what the fuss was about. It was a pretty wild year for him, style-wise.
Getting Started
First, I scrolled through a ton of pictures online. I mean, a ton. I used some search engines and looked for “kanye west outfits 2016”. It was a lot of paparazzi shots, event photos, and even some blurry concert pics. I wanted to get a good sense of the overall vibe.
The Key Pieces
After looking at all those images, I started noticing some patterns. There were a few things that kept popping up:
- Oversized Hoodies: Lots of big, comfy-looking hoodies, often in neutral colors like grey, black, or beige.
- Distressed Denim: Ripped jeans were definitely a thing. The more holes, the better, it seemed.
- Bomber Jackets: He wore a lot of bomber jackets, sometimes plain, sometimes with patches or designs.
- Boots: Usually some kind of work boot or military-style boot. Definitely not sneakers all the time.
- Layering: He would often wear multiple shirts, or a long shirt under a shorter jacket.
Putting it Together
So, I went into my closet (and did some online browsing, I admit) to see what I could find. I didn’t have exact matches for everything, obviously, but I tried to capture the general feel of the outfits.
I found a big grey hoodie, some old ripped jeans, and a black bomber jacket. I also had a pair of tan work boots that kind of fit the bill. I layered a longer white t-shirt under the hoodie, just like I saw in some of the pictures.
The Final Result
It wasn’t perfect, of course. I’m not Kanye, and I don’t have his budget or his stylist. But I think I managed to put together something that kind of resembled his 2016 style. It was surprisingly comfortable, too! I definitely understood the appeal of the oversized hoodie and ripped jeans combo.
It will be fun to find another year and his style to learn and try.
