Privacy or view? Exploring why rich people dont cover their Windows

So, I got curious about this whole thing – why don’t rich people cover their windows? I mean, we regular folks put up curtains, blinds, whatever, for privacy, right? So, I decided to dig into it and see what I could find, like a mini-investigation, you know?

Privacy or view? Exploring why rich people dont cover their Windows

My Little Experiment Begins

First, I started with good old Google. I typed in stuff like “why rich people windows uncovered,” “luxury homes open windows,” and things like that. I scrolled through a bunch of articles, forums, and even some Quora threads. It was a mix of opinions, some practical, some kinda…out there.

Then, I figured I’d check out some real estate listings – the fancy ones, of course. I looked at pictures of multi-million dollar homes, paying attention to the windows. Were they covered? Were they not?

I even watched a few episodes of those “Million Dollar Listing” shows. My wife thought I was crazy, spending my Saturday night watching reality TV for “research.” But hey, gotta commit, right?

What I Noticed

Here’s the thing I noticed. It wasn’t that all rich people never cover their windows. It was more like…selective covering. Here’s what I observed:

  • Amazing Views: If the house had a killer view – ocean, mountains, city skyline – those windows were usually bare. Like, why would you cover that up? It’s part of the whole luxury experience, I guess.
  • Privacy By Design: Many of these huge homes are designed with privacy in mind. Think large lots, strategic landscaping, or even the way the house is positioned on the property. They don’t need curtains because nobody can really see in anyway.
  • High-Tech Glass: I read about this fancy glass that can go from clear to opaque with the touch of a button. So, they can have the view when they want it, and privacy when they need it. Pretty cool, huh?
  • Security Systems: These places are like Fort Knox. They have state-of-the-art security systems, cameras, guards…curtains are probably the last thing on their minds when it comes to safety.

My Conclusion (For Now)

So, after my little deep dive, I realized it’s not a simple “rich people don’t like curtains” thing. It’s more about a combination of factors – the view, the design of the property, fancy technology, and top-notch security. They have the luxury of prioritizing the view and openness because they’ve got the resources to make it work without sacrificing privacy or safety.

It’s kind of a different world, I guess. I’m still keeping my curtains, though. My view is of my neighbor’s backyard, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want to see me in my pajamas every morning.
