Okay, let’s talk about my electric hydroboard adventure in the Norwegian fjords!
It all started with an idea. I saw these cool electric hydrofoils online, and I was like, “I gotta try that!” And where better to do it than the stunning fjords of Norway? So, I booked a trip. Seriously, Norway had been on my bucket list forever.
First things first, I needed to find a place that actually rented these things out. It took some digging, some serious online searching, you know how it is. Finally, I found a company near a fjord that looked perfect. Lots of calm water, amazing scenery – the whole deal.
Getting Ready
I contacted the Company, and discussed with them about the trip, then I packed my bags! Warm clothes, waterproof everything, and of course, my GoPro. I was so pumped, I could barely sleep the night before.
The First Attempt
- Arrival: I got to the rental place, and the views were already insane. Just breathtaking mountains and crystal-clear water.
- Briefing: The instructor, a super chill Norwegian guy, showed me the ropes. How to control the board, how to stand up, how not to fall (easier said than done!). It looked pretty straightforward, but I was still a bit nervous.
- Wetsuit On: Squeezed into a wetsuit – always a fun experience, right? – and waddled down to the water.
- First Launch: Okay, this was harder than it looked. I strapped my feet in, hit the throttle, and… promptly face-planted. The water was COLD.
- The instructor just laughed, which, you know, fair enough. He then proceeded to show me exactly what I should do.
Finding My Balance
After a few more attempts (and a few more face-plants), I started to get the hang of it. The key, I realized, was to keep my weight centered and use small movements to steer. It’s all about balance, really. I slowly stood up, the board lifted out of the water, and suddenly, I was flying!

Cruising the Fjords
It was incredible! So quiet and smooth, just gliding above the water. I spent the next hour exploring the fjord, taking in the scenery, and filming everything with my GoPro. I even saw a couple of seals! I followed the instructor’s guidence, cruised the Fjords smoothly and safely!
Wrapping Up
Eventually, my time was up. I was exhausted but exhilarated. I peeled off the wetsuit, thanked the instructor, and headed back, already planning my next hydrofoil adventure. Seriously, if you ever get the chance, you HAVE to try this. It’s like nothing else!
