That Time with “Kate Spade Pics”
Alright, so the other day I found myself typing “kate spade pics” into the search bar. Don’t ask why. Maybe I was bored, maybe I was looking for something specific, who remembers? Point is, I did it.
And down the rabbit hole I went. Pics everywhere. Bright bags, fancy wallets, the whole shebang. But it wasn’t the stuff that got me. Nope. It was a memory, a really old one, that just smacked me in the face. All because of some “kate spade pics.”
And this is where things get a little, I dunno, real.
It took me way back. My first proper job. I was broke. Seriously broke. Eating noodles, counting pennies broke. But my big sister, she was doing a bit better. And her birthday was coming up. I wanted to get her something… you know… nice. She was always flipping through magazines, eyeing those Kate Spade things.
So, I saved. Like crazy. More noodles. Walked instead of taking the bus. You get the picture. Finally scraped enough together. I remember walking into one of their stores. All bright and shiny. She finally told me. She was too scared to use it much. Didn’t want to mess it up, ’cause she knew I’d worked my butt off for it. Plus, she kinda whispered, it wasn’t really her style by then. Didn’t want to say anything to hurt my feelings. Can you believe that?
It’s funny, isn’t it? All that fuss, all that saving, all for a name on a thing, all because I saw some pictures. Those “kate spade pics” I was looking at just brought it all back. It was never really about the wallet. For me, it was trying to do something big. For her, it was trying not to crush me.
So yeah, now when I see those “kate spade pics” or any of that high-end stuff, sure, it looks good. But I mostly just think about that little wallet. And how things aren’t always what they seem. People are complicated. You try hard, and it still might end up in a box. That’s just how it goes, I guess. All from a random search. Life’s weird.
