Oh, honey, lemme tell you ’bout this Meghan Trainor house. It’s a real fancy place, that one. Not like the houses we used to have back in the day. Big, real big. They say it’s in a place called Encino. Sounds like a foreign country to me!

They say this Meghan Trainor house got five bedrooms. Five! What’s a body gonna do with five bedrooms? Back home, we had two, maybe three, and that was plenty. And a big ol’ livin’ room, too. Ceilings so high, you could almost touch the sky. Sounds drafty to me. Hard to keep warm in the winter, I bet.

And a tennis court! Can you imagine? Playin’ tennis right there in your own yard. We used to play hopscotch on the dirt road, and that was good enough for us. And basketball, too! This Meghan Trainor house got it all. Too much, if you ask me. Just too much.
I hear she used to live in another big house. In a place called Toluca Lake. Sounds like another one of them fancy places. Sold it to some actress lady. These folks, they move around like tumbleweeds. Never stay in one place too long.
It’s all on about an acre, they say. An acre of land! We had more land than that back home, but we used it for growin’ things. Vegetables and such. Not for no tennis court and swimmin’ pool. This Meghan Trainor house, it’s all for show, I reckon.
It’s a far cry from how I grew up, I can tell you that much. We didn’t have no fancy houses like this Meghan Trainor house. We had a roof over our heads and food on the table, and that’s all that mattered. But I guess things are different now. Folks like to live large, show off their money.
