Okay, so, about that Madonna “Vogue” costume. I’ve always been a huge fan of Madonna, especially her iconic looks, so I thought it would be fun to try and recreate one of her most famous outfits.

First off, I started by watching the “Vogue” music video like a hundred times. I really wanted to get all the details right, you know? Then I started to figure out what pieces I needed.
The main thing was that cone bra top. I searched online forever, but they were either super expensive or looked really cheap. So, I decided to make it myself.
- I bought some fabric, foam, and some basic sewing supplies.
- Then I found a pattern online, which was a lifesaver. It was still pretty tricky to sew, especially since I’m not exactly a pro with a needle and thread.
- I followed the instruction of the pattern.
But after a few evenings of struggling, and a few messed-up attempts, I finally got something that looked pretty decent. A little wonky, maybe, but definitely in the spirit of the original.
Next up was the black pants. Luckily, I already had a pair of black, high-waisted pants that were perfect. I just added a wide, black belt to cinch in the waist and give it that signature Madonna look.
For the accessories, I rummaged through my old jewelry boxes and found some long, dangly earrings and a bunch of bracelets, just like she wears in the video. I also put on my black boots and tried to make my hair look like Madonna’s hair.

Putting it all together, I felt pretty good! It definitely captured the vibe of the “Vogue” video, and it was super fun to dance around in. It might not have been perfect, but I learned a lot about sewing and costume making in the process. Plus, now I have a pretty cool Madonna outfit for any future costume parties or themed events! Maybe next time I’ll try another one of her iconic looks.
There were so many attempts before success. I am glad that I finally made it!
