Hunter Schafer Golden Globes: See Her Stunning Red Carpet Look!

Okay, so I saw all the buzz about Hunter Schafer’s look at the Golden Globes, and I just had to try and recreate it myself. I mean, that sheer, ethereal dress? The minimalist makeup? Obsessed!

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to gather my supplies. I went to my makeup stash and realized. Obviously, I didn’t have a designer gown lying around, but I did have this flowy white-ish dress that I thought might give off a similar vibe.

  • Makeup: I’m no makeup artist, so I stuck to the basics. I grabbed my foundation, some concealer, a neutral eyeshadow palette (think browns and creams), mascara, and a nude lipstick.
  • Hair: I’ve got long hair. I figured a sleek, straight look would be the way to go. Grab a straightener.

The Process

I started with the makeup. I applied a thin layer of foundation, just to even out my skin tone. Next up, concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. The key here was to keep it natural, not too heavy.

For the eyes, I used a light, shimmery cream color all over the lid, and then a slightly darker brown in the crease to add some dimension. I kept the eyeliner to a minimum, just a thin line along the upper lash line. A coat of mascara, and my eyes were done!

My lips got a swipe of my favorite nude lipstick, one that’s just a shade or two darker than my natural lip color.

I then used my hair straightener. Straightening my hair made it sleek.

The Results

Did I look exactly like Hunter Schafer? Nope. Did I feel like a million bucks anyway? You bet! It was really the whole vibe – the effortless elegance, the understated glam. It felt like me. It was fun to step outside my comfort zone and try something new.

I snapped a few pictures to remember the whole experience. I even felt confident enough to go out. It was a fun experiment, and a reminder that sometimes, less really is more. Will try more things.
