Okay, so yesterday I decided to check out this pizza place called The Gypsy Poet. It’s located at 2404 Austin St, Houston. I’d heard some good things about it, and who doesn’t love a good pizza, right?
First off, I got to the place. It was pretty easy to find. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but hey, it’s in the city, what can you expect? I walked in, and the vibe was pretty chill. Not too crowded, which was nice.
Trying Out The Menu
- I started by looking over the menu. They have a bunch of different pizzas, but I was also eyeing their salads.
- I heard someone say the portobello salad was good, so I thought, “Why not?” and ordered one.
- For the pizza, I went with a classic pepperoni. Can’t go wrong with that, you know?
While I was waiting, I noticed how they make the pizzas. They have this open kitchen thing going on, so you can see them tossing the dough and everything. It’s kind of cool to watch.
The food arrived, and man, it looked good. The salad was all colorful and fresh. The pizza had that perfect crispy crust and just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni.
Digging In
- I dug into the salad first. It was actually really tasty. The portobello mushrooms were juicy, and the dressing was just right. Not too heavy, you know?
- Then, I grabbed a slice of pizza. It was delicious! The crust was perfect, the sauce was flavorful, and the pepperoni had a nice little kick.
I finished up my meal feeling pretty satisfied. It was a good amount of food, and I didn’t feel overly stuffed. Plus, the price wasn’t too bad either. It felt like a good deal for what I got.
So, that’s my experience at The Gypsy Poet. I’d say it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Houston and craving some pizza. Or even if you just want a good salad, honestly. I’m no poet, but I know good food when I taste it, and this place gets a thumbs up from me. I think I will visit there more times in the future.
