Man, what a wild ride it’s been trying to keep up with the Golden Globes after-party scene! It all started on a random Thursday, January 3rd, when I saw a blurb about the annual Golden Globe Awards press preview. That got me thinking, “Hey, why not try to get the inside scoop on what happens after the cameras stop rolling?”
So, I started digging around. First thing I noticed was that this year, they promised fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift. I guess they wanted to avoid another “Taylor’s Boyfriend” situation, haha! But that’s not what I was after. I wanted the real juicy stuff – the behind-the-scenes action.
I scoured the internet for any mention of the after-parties. I saw a few mentions of paparazzi going crazy trying to get shots of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. Okay, that’s a start. Then I found out that the official “Hollywood’s Party of the Year” was going to be hosted by Nikki Glaser and aired live on CBS, streaming on Paramount+ on January 5th, 2025. That’s the date! The big weekend of the awards season’s start!
Getting Deeper into the Party
My next move was to hunt down photos and stories from people who were actually there. I stumbled upon a goldmine – a collection of photos with captions like “Selfies, big hugs, and lots of champagne” and a shout-out to Edgar Ramirez. Now we’re talking! This is the kind of stuff I was looking for.
I also learned a bit about the actual awards. Apparently, “Succession” swept the TV drama category, with Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfadyen all winning for their roles. And get this – “Barbie” won the first-ever “cinematic and box office achievement” Golden Globe. That’s kind of cool, I guess.
Then there was the whole deal with the host. Nikki Glaser was going to be the first solo female host, which is awesome! I read that things were supposed to go a lot smoother than last year when some comedian named Jo Koy bombed after only having 10 days to prepare. Yikes!
Stars Everywhere
As I kept digging, I found out that a bunch of big names were nominated – Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig, Denzel Washington, Ariana Grande and more. Talk about star power! This after-party was going to be insane!

- Discovered that voters get the final ballots after the nominations are announced in mid-December.
- Figured out that the winner in each category is picked by the most votes, and there’s even a tie-breaker rule.
So, yeah, that’s basically my journey into the world of Golden Globes after-parties. It was a lot of searching, clicking, and piecing things together, but I think I got a pretty good idea of what it’s all about. It’s definitely a world of glitz, glamour, and who knows what else goes on behind closed doors! It makes me want to go to next year’s show!
