Okay, so today I decided to dive into the “Fairy Tales in Fashion” exhibit, and let me tell you, it was a whole thing. First, I spent like an hour just trying to find decent pictures online. I wanted to get a feel for the vibe before I even started putting an outfit together.

Getting Inspired
I knew I wanted to do something inspired by, I don’t know something classic, not too crazy.I looked at a bunch of pictures on the internet, flipping through different looks—ballgowns, capes, the whole nine yards. It was overwhelming, to be honest!
The Closet Dive
Next step, I raided my closet. I figured I didn’t want to buy a whole new outfit, I needed use what I already had.I pulled out anything that seemed remotely “fairy tale”-ish. We’re talking flowy skirts, anything with a bit of sparkle, and even an old velvet jacket that I haven’t worn in ages.
- Flowy white skirt – check!
- Sparkly silver top – maybe?
- Old velvet jacket – a definite possibility!
Putting It Together
This is where it got tricky. I tried on a million combinations. The white skirt with the silver top? Too * velvet jacket with a plain black dress? Getting closer, but still not quite right. It was a process of elimination, mixing and matching until something clicked.
The Final Look
Finally, I landed on something I liked. I paired a simple black dress with a long, lacy cardigan. I added a silver necklace with a, kind of, mystical-looking * wasn’t exactly a “ballgown,” but it felt like my own little, wearable interpretation of a fairy tale. I even did my makeup a little fancier than usual, a bit of shimmer on the eyelids, a bolder lip.
Showtime
I felt good, the outfit worked. It was fun, I think,I put my own spin on the theme without going over the top. It’s all about finding that balance, you know?

I took my own *, I took a bunch of photoes, trying to get the lighting right. I think the photo I use is not bad!
It was a fun little experiment, to sum up. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, got me thinking creatively, and made me look at my clothes in a new way. Would I do it again? Maybe! It depends on the theme, of course. But this one was definitely a win.
