Alright, alright, let me tell you about this JLo and Ben Affleck thing, you know, the movie stars. Heard all about it from my niece, she’s always glued to that phone.
So, these two, JLo, that’s Jennifer Lopez, and Ben, they got hitched. Not once, but twice! Can you believe it? First time, they run off to Vegas, like them young folks do, real quick and quiet. My niece said it was in July, July 16th to be exact. Just them, no big fuss. Probably saved a whole heap of money that way, smart if you ask me.
But then, they go and do it again! This time, big fancy wedding down in Georgia, on Ben’s big ol’ farm. Eighty-seven acres, my niece said. Land must cost a fortune down there. This was in August, August 20th, I think. Seems like they couldn’t make up their minds, or maybe they just like a good party. Rich folks, they got money to burn.
- Wedding number one: Las Vegas, real hush-hush.
- Wedding number two: Georgia, big and fancy, on a farm.
My niece showed me some pictures. JLo, she looked real pretty in a white dress. Ben, he looked alright too, I guess. Cleaned up nice. They had all their friends and family there, all dressed up. Looked like a real to-do. My niece said they even had a sneak peek of JLo walking down the aisle. “Here comes the bride” she called it.
Now, I don’t know much about these movie stars, but I do know a thing or two about love. And it seems like these two, they really care about each other. Been on and off for years, my niece told me. Twenty years or something crazy like that. Guess they finally figured it out. Good for them, I say. Everyone deserves a little happiness, even if they are rich and famous.
Second time’s the charm, they say. Maybe that’s true for these two. Hope they stick together this time. Marriage ain’t easy, no matter who you are. Takes a lot of work, a lot of give and take. But if they love each other, they’ll figure it out.
My niece keeps going on and on about how romantic it all is. Two weddings, big farm, white dress, all that jazz. I tell her, romance is nice, but it ain’t everything. You gotta have respect, trust, and a whole lotta patience. That’s the real secret to a long and happy marriage, you hear? Not all the fancy stuff.
Anyway, that’s the story of JLo and Ben, as far as I can tell. Two weddings, a lot of fuss, and hopefully a happily ever after. Wish them all the best, I do. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about weddings has made me hungry.
This whole thing with JLo and Ben, reminds me of my cousin Betty and her husband, Joe. They got married in the courthouse, real quick, then had a big ol’ party in the backyard a month later. Said they wanted to do it their way, not what everyone else expected. Guess JLo and Ben felt the same. Do what makes you happy, that’s what I say.
So, yeah, JLo and Ben. Married twice, in love, and rich as can be. What more can a person want? Probably nothin’. Just hope they remember where they come from, and don’t get too big for their britches. Money ain’t everything, you know. Family and love, that’s what really matters.
And that’s all I got to say about that. My niece is calling me again, probably got more gossip about these two. Maybe they’ll get married a third time! You never know with them Hollywood types.
Anyways they wore white at the second one. My niece said the whole place was done up real nice. Flowers everywhere, fancy food, and music playing all night long. Sounded like a good time, even for an old lady like me.
