That Ferrari, you know, the red one, they say it goes 240 mph. 240! Can you believe it? I heard it from Maggie’s son, the one who’s always on the internet. He said it’s the fastest thing on wheels. Faster than that old truck Jimmy used to drive down Main Street, that’s for sure. That thing could barely hit 50 without rattling apart. But this Ferrari, they call it a “supercar.”
I don’t know much about cars, but I know fast when I hear it. 240 mph! That’s like going from our town to the city in the blink of an eye. You’d be there before you could even finish a cup of coffee, I tell ya. Though, I don’t know why anyone would need to go that fast. Seems a bit much, doesn’t it?
They say these Ferrari cars are fancy. Real fancy. Like, more expensive than my whole house kinda fancy. And they’re not just fast, they’re pretty too. All shiny and sleek, like a horse that’s just been groomed. But a horse that goes 240 mph, mind you. I saw a picture once, and it was red. Bright red, like a fire engine. But I bet it doesn’t sound like a fire engine. They say these cars have a special sound, a “roar” they call it.
Now, you might be thinking, “Why’s she going on about a Ferrari?” Well, I heard some folks talking about owning one. Owning one! Can you imagine? It’s like owning a piece of the sky or something. Something you only dream about. They say it’s a whole ‘nother world, owning a car like that. Like being part of some fancy club.

- You get to go real fast, I guess if that is your kind of thing.
Seems like a lot of fuss if you ask me. But then again, I’ve never been one for fancy things. Give me a good pair of boots and a sturdy truck, and I’m happy. But this Ferrari that goes 240 mph, it does make you think, doesn’t it? About speed, and about how some folks live.
They say driving one of these things is an “experience.” Like riding a rollercoaster, but you’re in control. I guess you feel like you’re flying or something. And it’s not just about the speed. They say these cars handle real nice. Like they’re glued to the road, even when you’re going faster than a chicken running from a fox. It should do for what they cost, I reckon.
Now these rich people seem to think that going 0 to 60 in 3 seconds is an essential part of owning one of these cars. It ain’t essential to me but I guess I understand the thrill some. It does sound exciting to be pushed back into your seat like that. As long as the seat is comfy I suppose.
This Ferrari, it’s a dream for some folks. A dream to go 240 mph, to feel that power, to have everyone looking at you. It’s a different world, that’s for sure. A world of speed and fancy things. A world I probably won’t ever see, and that’s alright. But it’s still fun to think about, isn’t it? A car that goes 240 mph. Imagine that.
I heard a fella talking the other day saying that you can use these cars everyday. He said you would get a lot of attention and questions though. Probably best to just leave it in the garage then. Less hassle I think. I wonder if you could fit all your groceries in a Ferrari? Probably not.
I don’t think I would like driving a supercar. I would be too scared of scratching it. They are for those rich folk who don’t mind a few bumps and scrapes. I’ve heard they are nothing like driving a normal car though. I bet they are just as difficult to park though. I struggle with my little car enough as it is.
The Ferrari sounds like a fast car that turns heads. I don’t think I would like the attention that goes with one of them. I would much prefer a nice sturdy car that gets me from A to B. Even if that car doesn’t go 240 mph.
