Okay, so I’ve been getting really into pickleball lately. It’s, like, the perfect mix of fun and exercise. But, I quickly realized my usual workout gear wasn’t cutting it. I needed a proper pickleball outfit! So I started this whole…experiment, I guess you could call it.
Phase 1: The “Anything Goes” Phase
First, I just wore whatever I had. Old t-shirts, basketball shorts, running shoes… you name it. Big mistake. I was either too hot, too restricted, or just plain uncomfortable. The cotton shirts soaked up sweat like a sponge, and my shoes weren’t giving me the right kind of support for all that quick side-to-side movement. I felt clumsy and slow.
Phase 2: The Research Rabbit Hole
So, I hit the internet. I started looking at what other people were wearing. I noticed a few things:
- Moisture-wicking fabrics: Everyone seemed to be wearing stuff that kept them dry.
- Comfortable shorts/skirts: Nothing too baggy, nothing too tight.
- Court shoes: Apparently, running shoes aren’t ideal.
- Visor or hat: protection from the sun when playing outdoors.
Phase 3: The Trial and Error
Armed with this new knowledge, I went shopping.I grabbed a few moisture-wicking shirts and some athletic shorts that had a bit of stretch.I found some colorful and fun skirts. And, most importantly, I invested in a pair of court * difference was HUGE. I felt so much more agile and comfortable on the * moisture-wicking fabric kept me cool, and the shoes gave me the grip I needed.I also tried playing with a visor, which helped a lot.
Phase 4: Final touches.
I picked up some bright, fun colors to my pickleball outfits to express my style on the *, I feel like I’ve finally cracked the code. I’m comfortable, I’m moving well, and I’m not a sweaty mess after a game. Pickleball success!
