Okay, so I’ve been seeing these claw clips everywhere, right? And I finally decided to give them a try. I have really thick, long hair, so I was a little skeptical, but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
Finding the Right One
First, I went to the store. Just a regular drugstore, nothing fancy. I stood there for like 20 minutes, just staring at all the different sizes and colors. It was overwhelming!
- Some were tiny.
- Some were huge!
- Some were plain.
- Some were sparkly and bedazzled.
Finally, I grabbed a couple of medium-sized ones that looked pretty sturdy. I figured I’d start simple.
The Experiment Begins
Back home, I tried to put my hair up. It wasn’t as easy as it looks in those TikTok videos, let me tell you! My hair kept slipping out. I twisted it, I folded it, I wrestled with it. Finally, I managed to get most of it up in the clip, but it felt a little… precarious.
I wore it around the house for a while, just to see how it would hold up. I did some chores, I cooked dinner, I even did a little bit of yoga (nothing too crazy, though!).
The Verdict
Surprisingly, it stayed put! It wasn’t the most elegant updo I’ve ever had, but it was definitely functional. I’m not sure if I’ll be wearing it out in public anytime soon, but for keeping my hair out of my face while I’m working from home or cleaning? Yeah, I think I get the hype now. These claw clips are great! I’m now thinking about getting myself a more bedazzled claw clip for a night out!
I think I need a little more practice, though. Maybe I’ll watch a few more tutorials. Or maybe I just need to embrace the messy bun look. We’ll see!
