My Ariana Grande Costume Brainstorm
So, I’ve always been a fan of Ariana’s iconic looks. I mean, who isn’t, right? I decided to try and recreate some of them, just for fun and maybe for a future Halloween party or a themed event. I started by doing a deep dive into her most memorable outfits.
Gathering the Essentials
I realized pretty quickly that the key to any Ariana look is the signature high ponytail. Seriously, that’s like, half the battle right there. So, I grabbed my trusty hair extensions – gotta get that extra volume and length! Then, I looked at some of her classic outfits:
- Oversized Sweatshirts and Thigh-High Boots: This is probably one of her most comfy-cozy looks. I found a super oversized hoodie in my closet (thank you, online shopping!) and paired it with some thigh-high boots I already owned. Easy peasy!
- The “Thank U, Next” Look: Pink, pink, and more pink! I dug up a pink fluffy jacket, a pink skirt, and even some pink knee-high socks. I already own the right boots, then, I felt pretty good about channeling my inner Ariana.
- The “7 Rings” Vibe: Okay, this one was a little more extra. I am not rich! So, I found a shiny, metallic-looking top and some blingy accessories at a local store, and attempted to recreate that “rich girl” aesthetic. It was…an attempt, let’s just say that.
The Ponytail Struggle is Real
Let me tell you, getting that ponytail just right was a challenge. I spent a good hour wrestling with my hair, the extensions, and a whole lot of hairspray. I watched some YouTube tutorials, tried different techniques, and finally managed to get something that resembled Ariana’s signature ‘do. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough!
The Final Touches
After I got the hair and outfits sorted, I focused on the makeup. Ariana’s go-to look usually involves a sharp winged eyeliner, some glowing highlighter, and a nude or pink lip. I practiced my eyeliner skills (which are, admittedly, not the best), added some highlighter to my cheekbones, and swiped on a nude lipstick.

In the end, I was pretty happy with how it all turned out! I think that oversized sweatshirt and boots option is my personal favorite – easy to pull off!
