Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this whole knitting thing, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. Today, I’m gonna spill the beans on my latest project: a sweater. Yeah, you heard that right, a whole sweater. And not just any sweater, but a sweater inspired by that Ami vibe.
Getting Started
First off, I grabbed some yarn. It was this soft, chunky stuff that just felt right. I mean, who doesn’t love a cozy sweater, right? Then came the needles. I opted for some circular ones ’cause I heard they’re the way to go for sweaters. With my materials ready, I dived into the pattern.
The Process
I started with the back panel. Cast on a bunch of stitches – don’t ask me how many, I lost count after a while. Then it was knit, knit, knit. Row after row. I put on some tunes, got in the zone, and just went at it.

Sleeves were next. I knitted these in the round, which was kinda cool. No seams, just a continuous tube of yarn. Once those were done, it was time to put it all together. This is where things got real. I seamed the shoulders, attached the sleeves, and seamed up the sides. It was like assembling a puzzle, but with yarn.
The Final Touches
Finally, I added the collar. This was a bit fiddly, but I got it done. Weaved in all the loose ends – and there were a lot of them. Gave it a good wash, blocked it, and waited for it to dry.
The Result
And there you have it. My Ami-inspired sweater. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine. It’s soft, it’s warm, and it’s got that handmade charm. I’m pretty stoked about how it turned out. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but there’s something satisfying about wearing something you made with your own hands.
