2020 fashion trends: Whats hot and whats not this year!

Alright, let’s dive into this fashion thing. So, I decided to get a grip on what was supposedly “trendy” in 2020. I mean, who wouldn’t want to look like they just stepped out of a time machine, right?

2020 fashion trends: Whats hot and whats not this year!

First off, I started digging around to see what the heck was going on in the fashion world. Apparently, streetwear was still a big deal. I saw people walking around in stuff that looked like they just robbed a skate shop or an old-school gym. But hey, who am I to judge? I’ve worn some questionable outfits in my time.

Mixing Old and New

Then, there’s this whole “Y2K” thing the young folks are into. I had to do some research, and let me tell you, it’s like the early 2000s threw up all over us. Low-rise jeans that show off way too much, belts on belts, and those silly newsboy caps. And don’t even get me started on the tie-dye tracksuits and those bright, headache-inducing neon prints. It’s like a fashion nightmare, but some people are actually into it.

  • Multiple belts
  • Newsie hats
  • Tie-dye tracksuits
  • Neon prints
  • Cargo pants
  • Butterfly clips
  • Platform sneakers

Leather, Leather Everywhere

I also read somewhere that colored leather was supposed to be the “it” thing. I saw some pictures of people in these deep purples and blues, and honestly, it looked like they were trying to blend in with a forest or something. I tried a green leather jacket, but I felt like a walking, talking Christmas tree. Not really my vibe, you know?

Trying It Out

So, I started trying to incorporate some of these trends into my own style. I grabbed a pair of low-rise jeans, and let me tell you, I felt like I was constantly pulling them up. Not exactly comfortable or practical, if you ask me. I also tried a cowl-neck shirt, which was kind of like wearing a scarf that’s attached to your shirt. It was weird, but not the worst thing I’ve ever worn. And the capri pants? They felt like I couldn’t decide between shorts and full-length pants, so I went with both. Not sure about that one.

After experimenting with a bunch of this stuff, I came to the conclusion that fashion trends are kind of a joke. Yeah, there are some cool things here and there, but overall, it feels like people are just wearing whatever they want and calling it “fashion.” And you know what? That’s totally fine. I mean, who cares if you’re wearing something that was popular 20 years ago or something that looks like it came from outer space?

Wear what makes you feel good, folks. That’s the real trend.
