So I was sittin’ around this mornin’, thinkin’ about this weekend. Gotta know who’s playin’ the big halftime show, right? And when the heck it actually starts. You know how it is, wanna be ready with the snacks and everything.

First thing I did, banged out Google on my phone. Just typed straight in: “who performs super bowl halftime show”. Seemed simple enough. Poked the search button.
Scrolled down a bit. Some news sites popped up. Saw one that looked kinda official, clicked it. Boom, right there: Usher. Got my performer. Cool, cool. Remembered that guy from way back. Figured he’d put on a good show.
Okay, step one down. Next hurdle: when does the darn thing actually kick off? Cause halftime ain’t like, say, halftime in a regular game, right? Heard rumors it starts late.
Went back to that same news site. Started huntin’ around on the page like a detective lookin’ for clues. Nothin’. Just talked about Usher’s career and stuff. Got side-tracked readin’ about his old hits for a hot minute.
Closed that tab. Needed a fresh start. Back to Google. Tried a new search: “what time super bowl halftime show 2024 start”. This time, lots more stuff popped up. Saw links from places that looked like sports sites and even the league itself.

Clicked on the top one – seemed legit. Page loaded kinda slow, chewed on my lip waitin’. Got there. Scanned the article like a hawk. Found a sentence buried near the middle: “Halftime show typically begins approximately 90 minutes after kickoff, around 8:00 PM ET.” Ah-ha! There it was.
Double-checked that kickoff was 6:30 PM ET. Did some quick math in my head: 6:30 PM, plus 90 minutes… yeah, lands right at 8:00 PM ET. Made sense.
Checked one more site just to be sure. Same time: around 8 PM Eastern Time. Okay, locked that info in. Felt pretty good, got both answers nailed down.
So here’s what went down:
- Tried Google.
- First search found the performer: Usher.
- Couldn’t find the start time on that first site.
- Went back, searched specifically for the start time.
- Found it listed as around 8:00 PM ET on a proper sports news site.
- Verified it with another site.
Big takeaway?
You gotta be real specific with your searches sometimes. Just askin’ “when halftime start” might not cut it. Gotta throw in the year or “Super Bowl” clearly. And honestly, those big sports news outlets or the league pages usually get it right quicker than some random blog. Saves you the headache of clickin’ around forever.
