Alright, let’s gab a bit about this… uh… what’s it called? Chanel creative director, yeah, that’s the ticket. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like somethin’ them city folks yap about.
So, I heard tell they got a new head honcho over at Chanel. A fella named Matthieu Blazy, if I recall right. Sounds foreign, don’t he? Anyways, they say he’s gonna be the big cheese, the one callin’ the shots for all them fancy clothes and bags and such. You know, the stuff them rich ladies wear.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this fashion business, mind you. I wear what’s comfortable and what I can afford. But from what I gather, this Chanel is a pretty big deal. Been around for donkey’s years, I reckon. Started by some woman named Coco, if the stories are true. She must’ve been a real go-getter, that one.
- Chanel’s a big name, everyone knows that.
- They sell all sorts of fancy things, dresses, purses, even smelly stuff.
- This new fella, Matthieu, he used to work for another company, Bottega Veneta I think they called it.
This Matthieu fella, he’s got big shoes to fill, I tell ya. The last lady, Virginie somethin’-or-other, she took over after that Karl Lagerfeld fella passed on. He was a real character, that Karl. Always wearin’ them dark glasses and a ponytail. Looked like a rooster, if you ask me. But he sure knew how to make them fancy clothes.
I reckon this new guy, Matthieu, he’s gotta be pretty darn good to keep them Chanel folks happy. Them city people are picky, you know. Always wantin’ the latest and greatest. They ain’t like us country folk. We wear our clothes till they fall apart.
Chanel’s got all sorts of stuff, not just clothes. They got them fancy purses that cost more than my whole house, I bet. And they got that perfume stuff, too. Smells alright, I guess, but I prefer the smell of fresh-cut hay myself. More natural, you know?
This whole fashion thing, it’s a mystery to me. Why folks pay so much money for a dress they’ll only wear once or twice is beyond me. But I guess that’s their business. As long as they ain’t hurtin’ nobody, let ’em spend their money how they want.
So, this Matthieu Blazy, he’s the new Chanel creative director. That means he’s in charge of makin’ all them fancy things. He’s gotta come up with new ideas, new styles, new colors. It’s a big job, I reckon. But I bet he’s gettin’ paid a pretty penny for it.
I heard tell there was lots of gossip before they picked this Matthieu fella. Folks were guessin’ who’d get the job. It was like a big horse race, with everyone bettin’ on their favorite. But in the end, Matthieu came out on top. Good for him, I say.
- People were talkin’ for months about who’d get the job.
- Virginie Viard, the last director, she up and left, so they needed someone new.
- Matthieu, he used to work for another fancy company before he came to Chanel.
Chanel, they been around a long time, since way back in 1910, they say. That’s a lot of years, even for an old biddy like me. And they still goin’ strong. Shows you, they must be doin’ somethin’ right. Even if I don’t understand it myself.
This Chanel creative director job, it ain’t just about makin’ pretty clothes. It’s about keepin’ the company goin’, keepin’ it relevant. The world changes, you know. What was fashionable yesterday might be old news today. So, this Matthieu fella, he’s gotta stay ahead of the curve, keep comin’ up with new ideas.
It’s a tough job, I bet. But I reckon he’s up for it. He wouldn’t have got the job if he wasn’t. So, we’ll just have to wait and see what he comes up with. Maybe he’ll make somethin’ I actually like. Though I doubt I’ll be tradin’ in my overalls for a fancy Chanel dress anytime soon.
And another thing, this Chanel, it’s owned by some French brothers, Wertheimer or somethin’ like that. They got all the money, I guess. Keepin’ it all in the family, like we do with our farm. But their farm is fancy clothes and such, not cows and chickens.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this whole Chanel creative director business. Not that it matters much to me. I got my own work to do, my own life to live. But it’s always somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? Keeps things interestin’. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll win the lottery and buy myself a Chanel purse. But I ain’t holdin’ my breath.
