Okay, so today I messed around with “af vandevorst,” which, let’s be honest, sounds super fancy. I didn’t even know what it was at first. Just saw the name and thought, “Challenge accepted!”

My Little Experiment
First thing I did was, of course, hit up the search engine. Turns out, it’s a fashion brand! Who knew? I definitely felt a bit out of my depth, since my usual style is more “comfortable” than “couture.”
I browsed through a bunch of images. Lots of, uh, interesting designs. Some were kinda cool, in a very edgy, artsy way. Others…well, let’s just say I wouldn’t be caught dead in them. But hey, fashion is subjective, right?
Then I tried to find out some information about the history. I found the names of the desingers, some of their famous designs, and their main style.
After that,I spend lots of time on sketching. I use a normal pencil. Then I tried to use my markers to finish one.
- Started with a basic outline. Just a simple figure to get the proportions right.
- Added some clothes. Went with a flowy dress design, inspired by some of the pictures I saw. I was not going to tackle anything too crazy!
- Added some details. Some frills, a bit of texture.I am a beginner of drawing, and I still made it!
It wasn’t perfect, by any stretch of the imagination. But it was fun! And I learned something new, which is always a win. Maybe I’ll stick to my comfy clothes in real life, but it’s cool to explore the wild world of high fashion, even if it’s just for a little bit.
