Alright, so I’d been seeing this whole blazer and bra thing popping up. Looked pretty sharp on some people online, you know? Made me think, could I actually do that? Seemed a bit daring, but I figured, why not give it a shot in my own space first, see how it actually feels.

Digging Through the Closet

First step was figuring out the right combo. Went over to my wardrobe. I’ve got this one black blazer, kinda structured but not too formal. Thought that might work. It’s not too short, not too long. Seemed like a good starting point. Didn’t want anything too flimsy or too boxy.

Then, the bra part. This needed some thought. I looked through what I had.

  • A regular t-shirt bra? Nah, didn’t seem right, looked accidental.
  • Something really lacy and fancy? Maybe too much like underwear on display.
  • Then I found this black bralette, kinda simple but with a nice shape. Not too revealing, but definitely looked like it could be part of an outfit.

Decided to go with that simple black bralette. Felt like the safest bet to start with. Wanted it to look intentional.

Trying It On – The Test Run

Okay, got the pieces. Put the bralette on. Then put the blazer on over it. Stood in front of the full-length mirror. My first reaction? Okay, this is definitely a look. Felt kinda… bold. Different from just wearing a top under a blazer, for sure.

Played around with the blazer button. Buttoned up low? Yeah, that looked quite smart, actually. Gave it a bit more structure. Left it open? More casual, more skin showing. Depended on the vibe I guess. Needed to stand up straight though, posture suddenly felt important.

Walked back and forth a bit in my room. Did it feel weird? A little, at first. But also kinda empowering? Hard to explain. It wasn’t uncomfortable physically, just mentally took a second to adjust to seeing it on myself.

The Verdict: Would I Wear This For Real?

So, the big question. Could I walk out the door like this? I paired it with some high-waisted trousers I have. That definitely helped. Made it feel more balanced, more like a complete outfit rather than just a blazer thrown over underwear.

Where would I wear it? Definitely not to the office, haha. But for maybe going out for drinks? A dinner with friends? Yeah, I could see it. It felt stylish, a bit edgy. Something different.

Learned a few things from trying it out. The blazer fit really matters. Has to hang right. And the bra choice is super important – gotta be something you’re cool with people seeing, something that looks like it belongs. Simple seems better, at least for me. Took a bit of experimenting, but yeah, I think I figured out how to make it work for me. Not an everyday thing, but for the right occasion? For sure. Added it to my list of potential outfits when I want to switch things up.
