I saw a question the other day, it’s like, what’s the deal with the 2029 S-Class Mercedes? So, I got curious and started digging around to find out more about it.
First, I checked out some car news sites and forums. Found some talk about the Mercedes-Benz EQS getting a facelift and moving to a faster-charging 800-volt system late next year. That’s cool, but it’s not exactly the S-Class. Then I stumbled upon some spy shots of an updated S-Class being tested. They say it’s gonna hit the market late next year as a 2026 model. So, I kept that in mind and continued my search.
Read somewhere that the new S-Class might use the * Large platform and come with a bunch of tech upgrades. They even had a rendering of what it might look like. It got me thinking, what kinda cool stuff could they add to a car like that?
I also spotted some photos of the Maybach version of the S-Class being tested. Looks like it’s getting a new face with fancy headlights and a bigger grille. Pretty snazzy, if you ask me. But then again, Maybach is all about that luxury life.
- Then I looked up the price of the current S-Class. Man, these things are expensive! The 2024 EQS starts at over 100 grand, and the S-Class is even more. Guess I won’t be buying one of those anytime soon.
- Learned that the S-Class used to be called “Sonderklasse,” which is German for “special class.” That’s a fitting name, considering how fancy these cars are.
My Findings
So, after all that digging, here’s what I figured out about the 2029 S-Class. It seems like Mercedes is gonna give it some updates for 2025, and then a bigger update in 2026. There’s talk of a new platform and lots of tech features. They might even change up the design a bit. And of course, it’s gonna be super expensive, just like all S-Classes. Seems like it’s gonna be a pretty sweet ride, but way out of my budget. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what they come up with. Maybe I’ll win the lottery by then, who knows.
