So, I’ve been totally obsessed with wedding dresses lately (don’t ask!), and naturally, I had to check out the latest from Vera Wang. The 2024 collection? Let’s just say it got me thinking, sketching, and maybe even daydreaming a little.
My Deep Dive into Vera Wang 2024
First things first, I started by just browsing online. You know, the usual – scrolling through pictures, getting a feel for the overall vibe. I noticed right away that it wasn’t the super traditional, princess-y stuff. There were a lot of interesting silhouettes, different textures, and some unexpected details.
Then, I dug a little deeper. I started looking at individual dresses, really paying attention to the details. Like, I zoomed in on the lace, the beading, the way the fabric draped. I wanted to see how everything was constructed, how it all came together.
- I spent a good chunk of time just analyzing the shapes. Some were sleek and modern, others had a more romantic, flowy feel.
- I was particularly interested in the use of color. It wasn’t all white! There were some subtle hints of blush, and even some bolder, darker accents.
- I made notes on the fabrics. I could see a mix of silks, satins, tulles…It seemed like there was a real emphasis on texture and how the materials moved.
After I felt like I had a good grasp of the collection, I started sketching. Not necessarily copying the dresses exactly, but more like… capturing the feeling of them. I played around with different necklines, sleeve styles, and skirt shapes, inspired by what I had seen.
Honestly, the whole process was super inspiring. It reminded me why I love design – the way you can take something and make it your own. It also got me thinking about how these trends might show up in other areas of fashion, not just wedding dresses.
I’ve found some great designs that fit my own aesthetic and that of others, It was a good experience.
