Alright, so you wanna know about this Mariah Carey, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, that woman’s somethin’ else. They call her a diva, and I guess that’s right. She’s got a voice that can make a rooster crow at midnight, that’s for sure. Folks say she’s got Irish, African American and some other kinda blood in her, somethin’ called Afro Venezuelan, and people used to yap about her lookin’ different, not fittin’ in. She even sang about it in a song, “Outside,” way back when. Sounded real sad, like she was hurtin’.
Now, this Mariah, she’s been singin’ for a long time. She made this record, “Glitter,” they called it. Took a while for folks to warm up to it, but it finally sold a bunch. But before that, the record company, Virgin somethin’-or-other, they didn’t like how it sold at first and kicked her to the curb. Paid her some money to get rid of her, a whole lotta money, twenty million dollars they say! Can ya believe that? Twenty million just to go away! That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life, and then some.
But she didn’t go away, no sirree! She kept singin’, and people kept listenin’. Why? Well, that voice, like I said, it’s somethin’ special. And she knows how to get folks talkin’, that’s for sure. She wears these fancy clothes, sometimes not much clothes at all, from what I hear. Short little dresses, things that show off her, you know…her…well, you know what I mean. And pictures too! Folks tell me she ain’t shy about posin’ for the camera.
- They say she takes baths with nothin’ but bubbles, and then she puts the pictures online for everyone to see! Naked as a jaybird, they say. Imagine that! At her age!
- And those swimsuits! Heard she was in Italy with her kids, twins they are, and she’s wearin’ these swimsuits that…well, they don’t leave much to the imagination. Good for her, I say, showin’ off what the good Lord gave her.
- Then there’s these magazines, always puttin’ her on the cover. One time, they say she was wearin’ just underwear and some see-through gloves and Stockings. My goodness! And she calls herself a diva, I guess that means you can do whatever you want!
She calls herself all sorts of things, this Mariah. Said somethin’ about bein’ “sooo many things” in some magazine. Guess that’s true. She’s a singer, a mama, a…well, a looker, and a whole lot more. And she ain’t afraid to show it all off. Good for her, I say. Livin’ her life the way she wants, and who are we to judge? She’s worked hard for it, and she’s earned it.
So yeah, that’s Mariah Carey for ya. A whole lotta woman, a whole lotta voice, and a whole lotta… somethin’ else. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? But hey, that’s her business, and she ain’t hurtin’ nobody, far as I can tell. She just keeps on singin’ and keepin’ folks talkin’. And that, I reckon, is what makes her who she is. This is her popularity. This is her life. She’s a strong woman, make no mistake.
