Top Holiday Break Outfits: Stay Stylish, stay relaxed!

Okay, so I’ve been seeing “holiday break outfits” all over my feed, and I kinda wanted to try putting some looks together myself. It’s not like I have a ton of fancy events, but you know, just some casual, comfy, but still cute outfits for hanging out during the break.

First Step: The Closet Dive

First things, I dumped everything out of my closet. Literally, everything. It was a mess, but it helped me see what I actually had to work with. I found some old sweaters I totally forgot about, and a couple of pairs of jeans that still fit (thank goodness!).

Putting It Together: Trial and Error

Then came the fun, but also kinda frustrating part: trying stuff on. I started with a basic formula: comfy pants + cute top + maybe a jacket or cardigan. I mixed and matched like crazy. Some combos were awful – like, seriously, what was I thinking? – but others actually worked!

  • Outfit 1: I paired some dark-wash jeans with a chunky knit sweater. It’s super simple, but the sweater has this cool cable-knit detail that makes it a little more interesting. Plus, it’s warm!
  • Outfit 2: I found a pair of corduroy pants (yes, corduroy!) that I thought would be fun. I matched it with a plain white t-shirt and a denim jacket. It’s casual, but the different textures make it more than just jeans and a tee.
  • Outfit 3: Okay, this one is a little dressier. I have this flowy skirt that I usually only wear in the summer, but I thought, why not? I put it on with a black turtleneck and some ankle boots. It’s surprisingly cozy and still feels winter-appropriate.

The Final Touches (and some fails…)

I played around with accessories a bit – scarves, beanies, that kind of stuff. I even tried a beret, but I looked like a total tourist, so that was a no-go. I ended up keeping things pretty simple, though. A warm scarf with the sweater outfit, a cute beanie with the corduroy look, and nothing extra with the skirt and turtleneck – it felt good on its own.

It took a while, but I actually came up with a few outfits I’m happy with. It’s nice to know I have some options for when I’m just chilling at home or meeting up with friends during the break, without feeling like I’m wearing the same old boring thing every day. Plus, I rediscovered some clothes I had totally forgotten about – score!
