Okay, here we go, let me tell you about my whole journey with these shoes called “So Kate”. You know, I’ve always been a bit of a shoe addict, and there’s something about a killer pair of heels that just makes you feel like you can conquer the world.
So, I saw these Christian Louboutin “So Kate” shoes all over the internet. They’re supposed to be super sexy and stylish, inspired by Kate Moss herself, you know? I thought, “I gotta have them!” They’re like the ultimate ‘it-girl’ shoe. I saw that a lot of folks were saying that I should order a half size up, or maybe even a full size bigger since they run small. Something about a narrow toe box, whatever that means.
First, I went online to their website, and it just didn’t feel right to order them online. I wanted to try them on, feel them, you know? So, I went down to the actual Louboutin store in my city. Walking in there, I felt a little out of place, to be honest. Everyone was so fancy! But hey, I was on a mission.
I found a sales assistant, a really nice guy, and asked about the “So Kate” shoes. He brought out a few different sizes for me to try. Let me tell you, slipping my foot into that first pair was…an experience. They were tight. Like, really tight. I tried my usual size, then a half size up, and then a full size up. Even the biggest size felt like it was crushing my toes. I wiggled my toes around and oh man, it was not a pleasant feeling.
I tried to walk around the store in them, you know, to see if they’d feel better after moving around a bit. Nope. It felt like I was walking on stilts, and not in a good way. I guess I was hoping they would magically become comfortable after a few steps, but no such luck. And that super-thin heel? It’s about 120 millimeters, which is pretty darn high. I felt like I was going to topple over at any second.
The sales guy, bless his heart, was trying to be helpful. He was telling me about how they’re made and how they’re supposed to be super stylish. He even compared them to some other styles, like the “Pigalle,” which apparently has a shorter and wider toe box, and the “Follies,” which has a similar heel to the “So Kate.” I appreciate the effort but I was more concerned about not breaking an ankle. I mean I love shoes, but not that much.
After trying on a few pairs and feeling like my feet were going to fall off, I had to admit defeat. Those shoes, as beautiful as they were, were just not for me. My feet were screaming, and I knew that even if I bought them, they’d probably just sit in my closet because I wouldn’t be able to stand wearing them for more than five minutes. I guess the folks on the forums were right, they’re definitely a head-turner, but wow, they’re tough to wear.
So, I left the store empty-handed, a little disappointed but also relieved that I didn’t spend a fortune on shoes that would torture my feet. I guess I’ll just have to find another pair of sexy heels that won’t leave me limping. Or maybe I’ll just stick to my comfy sneakers.
At the end of the day, beauty shouldn’t always mean pain, right? I mean, I want to feel confident and sexy, but I also want to be able to, you know, walk.
- Lesson learned: sometimes, the most beautiful shoes are the most impractical ones.
- My feet are grateful, even if my fashion sense is a little sad.
Find shoes that make you feel good, inside and out.
That’s my “So Kate” story. It wasn’t a fairytale ending, but it was definitely a learning experience. Maybe one day I’ll find a pair of high heels that are both gorgeous and comfortable, but until then, I’ll be rocking my flats and loving every minute of it!
