Okay, so I was scrolling through my social media feeds the other day, and I stumbled upon this article about Tom Petty’s house. I’m a huge fan of his music, always have been, so naturally, I got curious. I mean, who wouldn’t want to know where this legendary musician lived, right? So, I started digging a little deeper.
First, I googled “Tom Petty house” to get a general idea. I found out that his main residence was in Malibu, California, which is no surprise, given how many celebrities live out there. Apparently, the house was put on the market after he passed away in 2017. It was listed for a whopping $19 million! Can you imagine? The place is huge, over 8,000 square feet, with grassy lawns, fountains, and even ponds with waterfalls. It sounds like a dream home.
Then, I decided to look for some pictures. I mean, I had to see this place for myself, even if it was just through a screen. I found a bunch of articles with photos, and man, was it stunning. It’s a Mediterranean-style estate, and it just oozes charm. I could totally picture Tom Petty walking around there, maybe writing songs by the pool or something.
Next, I wanted to find out who bought the place. I mean, someone had to snap up this iconic piece of real estate, right? I read a few more articles and discovered that his wife, Dana Petty, was the one who listed the house. It ended up selling for over the asking price, at $10.25 million. I guess someone really wanted a piece of Tom Petty’s legacy.
After all this digging, I felt like I had a pretty good sense of Tom Petty’s home life, at least in his later years. It’s kind of cool to think about him living in this beautiful house in Malibu, making music and enjoying life. It made me appreciate his music even more, knowing a bit more about the man behind the songs. This whole thing made me want to listen to all his albums again, which is exactly what I did after I found out all this information.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of Tom Petty’s house. It’s amazing how much you can find out just by doing a little digging online. I hope you found it as interesting as I did. Maybe someday I’ll even get to visit Malibu and see the place for myself, even though I know it won’t be his house anymore.
