Okay, so I saw this trend going around about Emily Ratajkowski’s bikini pics, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, I’m no supermodel, but I figured I could try to capture the essence of it, you know?

First things first, I needed a bikini. Obviously. I didn’t have anything super fancy, so I just grabbed a simple black two-piece I had lying around. Nothing special, but it would do the job.

Finding the Right Spot

Next up, location, location, location. I don’t live near a beach, unfortunately. My backyard is pretty basic, just some grass and a few sad-looking bushes. But I did find this one kinda sunny spot near the fence where the light was hitting just right. It was a little bit awkward.

  • Checked the weather app for a sunny day.
  • Scouted my backyard for a decent backdrop (it was limited, to say the least).

Getting the Pose Right(Attempting, Really)

This is where things got…interesting. I pulled up some of Emily’s pictures on my phone for, uh, “inspiration”. Man, she makes it look so effortless! I tried to copy a few of her poses – the classic hand-on-hip, the slightly arched back, the “casually looking off into the distance” thing. Let me tell you, it’s harder than it looks! I felt so stiff and unnatural.

I set up my phone on a little tripod I had (thank goodness for that thing) and used the self-timer. Click, click, click. I must have taken like a hundred pictures, trying different angles and poses. Most of them were pretty terrible, if I’m being honest. Lots of awkward smiles and weird body contortions.

  • Tried (and mostly failed) to mimic some of Emily’s signature poses.
  • Used a phone tripod and self-timer for hands-free picture taking.
  • Took a TON of pictures, experimenting with different angles.

Final Result?

After sifting through all the photos, I found a couple that were…passable. I mean, I definitely didn’t look like Emily Ratajkowski, but hey, I tried! I played around with some filters a little, boosted the brightness, I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

It was a fun little experiment, I guess. Definitely made me appreciate how much work goes into those “effortless” looking photos! And it gave me a good laugh, looking at all the awkward outtakes. Would I do it again? Probably not. But hey, at least I can say I gave it a shot!
