Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here… uh… Saleen car, the S7, I think they call it. Fancy name for a fancy car, I reckon.
What’s this Saleen S7 thing anyway?
From what I gather, it’s one of them supercars. You know, the kind them rich fellas drive around. Fast as a jackrabbit, I bet. This here S7 ain’t just any old car, it’s American-made, which is somethin’ to be proud of, I guess. They say it’s one of the first real supercars from America, not them foreign jobs.
How much oomph does it got?
Now, I ain’t no mechanic, but I heard tell it’s got a powerful motor. Somethin’ about 750 horses, they say. That’s a whole lotta horses, more than my old mule ever had, that’s for sure! And it’s got this thing called a “V-8” engine. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ outta a spaceship. They also mentioned somethin’ about “twin turbochargers.” More fancy words, but I figure it means it goes real fast. And get this, it’s got six gears! Six! My old truck had, like, three, and that was plenty enough for me.

Is it new or used, this here S7?
Well, this one they’re talkin’ about ain’t brand spankin’ new. But it ain’t seen much use neither. They said it only got 1,800 miles on it. That’s like drivin’ to the next town and back a few times, that’s it. So, it’s practically new, I reckon. It’s like findin’ a good pair of boots at the flea market that someone barely wore. A real steal, they say.
Are there a lot of these Saleen cars around?
Nope. Seems like they didn’t make too many of these S7s. They’re rarer than hen’s teeth, I tell ya. I heard tell this one particular S7 is extra special, one of only two ever built. Imagine that! Two cars in the whole wide world. Makes you wonder who got the other one. Probably some movie star or some such.
When did this Saleen car come out?
Now, I ain’t got the best memory, but I think I heard someone say somethin’ about 2017. Yeah, that’s it. They showed it off, unveiled it they called it, back in 2017. Not too long ago, really. Though to me, anything after the year 2000 feels like yesterday and tomorrow all rolled into one.
Who’s this Saleen fella anyway?
Well, I reckon this Saleen fella, Stephen M. Saleen is his name, is the one who built these cars. He’s the brains behind the operation, the fella who dreamed up this fast machine. He probably tinkered around in his garage for years, just like my nephew does with his old motorcycles, ‘cept this Saleen fella, he came up with somethin’ real special.
So, what’s the big deal about this Saleen S7?
Well, from what I can gather, this here Saleen S7 is a big deal ‘cause it’s fast, it’s rare, and it’s American-made. It’s got a powerful motor, more gears than you can shake a stick at, and it looks like somethin’ out of a science fiction movie. Plus, they didn’t make many of ‘em, so owning one is like owning a piece of history, I guess. They say it’s even got more than 1,000 horsepower in some versions, imagine that! More power than a whole team of horses!

Yep, seems like someone’s willin’ to part with their S7. They’re sendin’ it off to somethin’ called an auction. That’s where a bunch of folks with deep pockets gather ’round and bid on stuff. I bet this here Saleen will fetch a pretty penny. Enough money to buy a whole farm, I reckon. Probably more than that. Enough to buy a whole town, maybe!
What do I think of it?
Well, I ain’t never driven somethin’ so fancy in all my life. My old pickup truck is good enough for me. But I can appreciate a fine piece of machinery when I see one, even if I don’t understand all the fancy talk. This Saleen S7, it’s somethin’ special, that’s for sure. A real American-made beauty, even if it’s a bit too loud and too fast for my taste. But if I had the money, and I was a young’un again, well, maybe I’d think about takin’ her for a spin.
