Okay, so, I wanted to make a custom T-shirt, right? A “Harris Walz” one, to show my support. I got this idea and thought, “Hey, I can do this myself!”

First, I grabbed some plain T-shirts from my closet. Just regular cotton ones, nothing fancy. I figured I needed a few in case I messed up. Good thing I did, because, spoiler alert, I totally did mess up a few times.
Then, I went online and searched for some cool designs. I mean, I wanted something that would really stand out, you know? I found a couple of designs, some with just the words “Harris Walz” in a bold font, and others with some graphics, like stars and stripes. They looked pretty neat, so I saved them to my computer.
Next, I needed to print these designs onto the T-shirts. I don’t have one of those fancy heat press machines, so I had to improvise. I used my regular iron. I printed the designs onto transfer paper. You can find these at any office supply store, by the way. Make sure you get the ones for dark fabrics if your T-shirt is dark, and the ones for light fabrics if it’s light. Common sense, but hey, it’s easy to forget.
Now, the tricky part. I placed the transfer paper with the design face down on the T-shirt. I made sure it was centered and looked good. Then, I took my iron and started pressing down on the paper. The instructions said to use high heat and no steam. I followed them, but honestly, it felt like I was ironing forever. I was so scared of burning the shirt or messing up the design.
- First try: Total fail. The design didn’t transfer properly. It was all patchy and looked terrible.
- Second try: A bit better, but still not great. I think I didn’t press hard enough in some areas.
- Third try: Nailed it! Finally! The design transferred perfectly. It looked so cool, all vibrant and sharp.
I was so proud of myself! I made a few more, each one getting better than the last. I even experimented with different colors and fonts. It was a lot of fun, actually. And a bit of a learning curve, but totally worth it.

Now, I have a bunch of awesome “Harris Walz” T-shirts that I made myself. They’re not perfect, but they’re mine. And I think they look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. It’s a great way to show support, and it’s way more personal than just buying a T-shirt online. Plus, it was a fun little project. I might even make some for my friends. We’ll see.
