Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Kate Middleton purple dress” thing popping up all over my Pinterest and fashion blogs. I was like, “Alright, I gotta see what the hype is about.” So, I started my little hunt.

My Deep Dive into the Purple Dress
First, I typed “Kate Middleton purple dress” into Google. Boom! Tons of pictures. It’s that gorgeous, flowy, purple dress she wore – the one with the, like, pussy-bow detail at the neck. I recognized it immediately. I remember seeing pictures of her wearing it before.
I scrolled through a bunch of articles and blog posts. It looks like she first wore it back in, get this, 2019! It’s a Gucci dress. Crazy, right? Still looks totally current.
Then, I dug a little deeper. I wanted to see if I could find something, you know, inspired by it. I’m not about to drop Gucci money on a dress, sorry, not sorry.
So, I started checking out some of my usual online stores. I typed in things like “purple pussy-bow blouse” and “purple midi dress” into the search bars. I found a few things that were kinda similar, but nothing that really nailed the color or that flowy vibe. It’s a surprisingly hard style to find a good dupe for!
I even checked out some smaller boutiques online. I was hoping they might have something a little more unique, something closer to the original. I found one dress that was close in color, but it was more of a bodycon style. Not quite what I was going for.

Next, I decided to try a different approach. I started looking at blouses instead of dresses. I figured I could maybe pair a purple blouse with a similar skirt and get a similar look. I had more luck there! I found a few blouses that had that pussy-bow detail and were a pretty close shade of purple.
The Final Result (For Now!)
I haven’t actually bought anything yet. I’m still kind of on the fence. I’m thinking I might try to find a flowy purple skirt to pair with one of the blouses I found. It won’t be exactly the same, but it’ll be my own take on the look.
It’s been a fun little fashion investigation, though! I love seeing how trends get re-interpreted and how you can take inspiration from something high-fashion and make it your own. I will keep looking for that dress.
