Okay, so today I wanted to dive into something I’ve been poking around in – the Nordic fashion industry. It’s something I find really interesting, and I thought I’d share how I went about exploring it.

First, I started with good old Google. I just typed in “Nordic fashion brands” and “sustainable fashion Scandinavia” to get a general feel for things. I skimmed through a bunch of articles and blog posts, just trying to get a sense of the big names and the overall vibe.
Digging Deeper
After that, I decided to get a bit more specific. I picked a few brands that popped up a lot, like “Filippa K” and “Ganni,” and checked out their websites. I looked at their “About Us” sections and tried to understand their mission and values.
- I noticed a lot of them talked about sustainability, which was cool.
- I also saw that many emphasized minimalist designs and high-quality materials.
Then, I went to Instagram. I searched for hashtags like #nordicfashion and #scandinavianstyle to see what real people were wearing and saying. This gave me a better idea of how these brands are actually perceived and styled, you know, in the real world.
Getting a Broader View
To get a broader understanding, I looked up some online magazines and blogs that focus on Nordic fashion. I found that helped to introduce more related content, I read a few articles about the industry’s challenges and opportunities, like the focus on circular economy and the competition from fast fashion.
Lastly, I try to found and followed some influencers and bloggers in the region to see what they will share in the future.

So, that’s basically how I approached learning about the Nordic fashion industry. It was a pretty casual exploration, starting broad and then narrowing down to specific brands and trends. I feel like I have a much better understanding now, and it’s definitely something I’ll keep looking into!
