Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Tales from Middleton High” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started with absolutely nothing, just a vague idea of what I wanted to do.

Getting Started
First, I downloaded the basic setup files. You know, the ones everyone says are super easy to use? Yeah, well, it took me a good hour just to figure out where to put them. Seriously, instructions could have been clearer.
Then I tried running the first command and it didn’t work. It just threw a bunch of errors that looked like alien language to me.
The Struggle is Real
- Spent like, two hours Googling error messages.
- Found a forum post that kinda helped, but not really.
- Tried copy-pasting code snippets, which, surprise, didn’t work.
I swear, half the time I felt like I was just randomly clicking things and hoping for the best. I even restarted my computer like, three times, just in case that was the magic fix. (It wasn’t.)
Small Victories
But then, finally, a breakthrough! I managed to get the first scene to load. It was just a blank room with a single character, but hey, it was something. I felt like a coding god for approximately five minutes.
After that, it was a slow process of adding things bit by bit. I experimented with different character animations, tried to add some dialogue (which was a whole other mess), and figured out how to change the background.

Still a Long Way to Go
It’s definitely not perfect. The characters still move a little weird, the dialogue is clunky, and the whole thing is pretty basic. But, I made this happen all by myself.
So, that’s my experience with “Tales from Middleton High” so far. It’s been frustrating, confusing, and occasionally rewarding. It’s definitely a work in progress, but hey, I’m learning, so it has to account for something.
