Today, I finally got around to capturing the backside view of that Mercedes-Benz LS 300 I’ve been eyeing. You know, the one that just screams “classic” with a hint of “I’m still relevant.” So, I grabbed my camera, probably looked like a weirdo to anyone passing by, but hey, it was worth it.

First off, I had to find the perfect angle. It’s a black Mercedes, so it’s already got that sleek, luxurious vibe. But getting the light just right was a bit of a hassle. I circled the car a few times, probably looked like I was planning something suspicious, but I just wanted that perfect shot. The raindrops on the car added a nice touch, made it look even more dramatic, I guess.

  • Find the right spot: I walked around the car park for a good ten minutes. Needed a spot where the background wasn’t too distracting.
  • Wait for the right light: This took longer than I expected. The sun kept playing hide and seek. But when it finally hit the car just right, it was magic.
  • Snap away: I took a bunch of photos from different angles. The backside of this car is something else. It’s got those classic lines, but it’s also kinda sporty.

I messed around with the settings on my camera – nothing too fancy, just enough to make sure the details popped. I mean, this isn’t just any car. It’s a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, which, from what I’ve seen online, is pretty darn gorgeous and apparently goes pretty fast too. And the history behind these cars? Wow. Apparently, they were a big deal back in the racing days, funded by some not-so-great people, but still, they dominated the tracks.

Getting the Shot

Getting the actual shot took some doing. I wanted to capture the way the light reflected off the curves. I ended up squatting down, standing on my tiptoes, and probably twisting my body into shapes that would make a yoga instructor cringe. But in the end, I got it.

I’m no professional photographer, not even close, but I’m pretty happy with how these photos turned out. They really show off the beauty of this classic car. And if you’re wondering about the price, from what I found digging around the internet, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing in good condition can cost you a small fortune. We’re talking over a million dollars! This one wasn’t a Gullwing, but still, it’s a stunning piece of automotive history. I spent way too long looking at stock photos online, but it was worth it to learn a bit more about this beauty.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this little adventure with you all. It’s not every day you get to photograph a car like this. Now, I’m off to find a new subject to obsess over. Maybe a vintage motorcycle? Or a really cool building? We’ll see. Also, I gotta say, this car is just the best-looking Mercedes ever made. Don’t agree? Well, as some guy online said, “I’ll fight you!” Haha, just kidding… or am I?
