Alright, let me tell you about this session I had with the Nightclub map in Ready or Not. It’s one of those maps that really sticks with you, you know? I’d been putting it off, heard it was a bit of a meat grinder, but the other night I just thought, “Okay, let’s do this.”

Getting Kitted Out and Stepping In

So, I spent a good few minutes just tweaking my loadout. Went with something I felt was versatile, because honestly, you never know what you’re walking into with these places. Shield on one guy, couple of flashbangs, the usual. I remember thinking, “This is either going to go surprisingly smooth or be an absolute disaster.” No in-between with nightclub scenarios, right?

The moment we breached that first door, man, it hit me. The thumping music, even though it’s just in the game, it gets your heart rate up. The flashing lights, the dark corners… it’s disorienting. That’s the point, I guess. My team and I, we tried to stick to our training, moving slow, checking every angle. But it’s tough when you can barely hear your own footsteps over the bass.

The Thick of It

We started clearing room by room. First few encounters were jumpy. Suspects popping out from behind a bar, or mixed in with panicked civilians. That’s the worst part, trying to make that split-second decision. Is that a gun or a phone? You shout, they sometimes comply, sometimes they don’t. I definitely let a few too many non-lethals fly just to be safe.

  • First, we hit the main dance floor area. Chaos. Pure chaos.
  • Then we pushed into the back rooms, offices, and storage. Tighter CQC there.
  • Had a real tense moment in a VIP lounge. One guy with a hostage. That took some careful talking and a well-timed flash.

I remember this one corridor, really narrow, strobe lights going full blast. We knew there was someone down the end. I peeked, got a shot whizz past my ear. My mate tossed a stinger, and we pushed. It felt like an eternity, but was probably only a few seconds. Found the guy trying to reload, got him cuffed. My hands were actually a bit shaky after that one.

We had to be super careful with civilians. So many of them, just cowering or trying to run. You’re trying to secure hostiles, watch your back, and usher these poor folks to safety all at once. It’s a proper juggling act. Lost one officer in a messy shootout near the DJ booth. That always stings, even in a game. Makes you rethink your approach for the next attempt.

Wrapping Up and That Lingering Feeling

By the time we finally got the “all clear,” I was mentally drained. Seriously. We managed to bring order to chaos, mostly. But these kinds of maps, they’re intense. It’s not just about shooting; it’s about control, information, and making hard calls under pressure.

You know, it’s funny. After a session like that, I usually just sit back for a bit. Stare at the screen. It’s weird, you put yourself through this simulated stress, and for what? I guess it’s the challenge, the problem-solving. It reminds me a bit of when I used to play intense chess matches back in the day. Totally different context, obviously, but that same feeling of deep focus and then the release, win or lose. This is just… louder. And with more shouting.

Anyway, that was my run-through of the Nightclub. Definitely an experience. Makes you appreciate the real folks who do this kind of thing for a living, that’s for sure. Now, I think I need a cup of tea.
