I tried to find out more about specific outfits, like who the designer was or the story behind a choice. Sometimes that information was easy to find, especially for the more high-profile events. Other times, not so much. It’s not like there’s a memo sent out for every single appearance, I guess. That part of my “research” was a bit hit-or-miss.
My practical goal through all this was to get some ideas for my own situation. What did I take away?

It wasn’t exactly a scientific study, just me looking at pictures and trying to learn something. It did make me think, though. There’s a lot of thought that must go into these choices when you’re constantly in the public eye. Every outfit is probably considered, discussed. It’s not just grabbing something off a hanger like most of us do in the morning.
So, after my little deep dive, did I magically find the perfect outfit for my friend’s event? Well, it gave me some direction. It reinforced the idea of going for something classic and well-fitting. I ended up choosing a simple navy dress I already had, actually, but I paid more attention to making sure it looked crisp and added a nice necklace. Sometimes, just reaffirming what you already know, by looking at how others do it, is helpful. It’s a process, right?
