Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through this little project I did, called “horoscope vogue.” It was a fun dive into combining astrology with, like, fashion magazine aesthetics. Sounds kinda out there, right? But stick with me.

It all started because I was bored, honestly. I was scrolling through Instagram and saw some cool fan art mashing up Sailor Moon with high fashion. And I thought, “Hey, I could do something like that, but with zodiac signs!”
First thing I did was brainstorm. I grabbed my sketchbook and started writing down keywords for each sign. Like, for Aries, I thought: fiery, bold, red, powerful. For Pisces: dreamy, watery, blue, ethereal. Just jotting down whatever came to mind.
Then came the visual research. I spent HOURS on Pinterest and Vogue’s website, looking for fashion inspiration that matched those keywords. I saved a bunch of images – runway looks, editorials, even just color palettes that felt right.
Next up: sketching! I’m not a super pro artist or anything, but I can doodle. I started roughing out poses and outfits for each sign. Think dramatic poses, flowy fabrics for the water signs, sharp angles and structured clothes for the earth signs. It was all about capturing the vibe.
The real challenge was bringing it all together. I decided to use Procreate on my iPad because it’s what I’m most comfortable with. I imported my sketches and started layering in details. I played around with different brushes and textures to get that “magazine” feel. Lots of experimenting with lighting and shadows.

For the color palettes, I used Adobe Color to create some mood boards based on the zodiac elements. Like, for fire signs, I went with reds, oranges, and golds. For water signs, blues, greens, and purples. I tried to make the colors pop and feel cohesive.
Adding the finishing touches was the most fun. I played around with fonts, adding little horoscope-y details like star symbols and constellations. I also added some text, like little blurbs about each sign’s personality and style. Basically, I wanted it to look like a real magazine spread, but with a zodiac twist.
Honestly, it took me a few days to finish the whole set. There were definitely moments where I wanted to throw my iPad across the room! But I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a fun way to get creative and combine two things I enjoy – astrology and fashion.
If you’re thinking about doing something similar, my advice is just to go for it! Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with it. And don’t worry about being perfect – it’s all about the process.
- Brainstorming: Write down keywords for each sign.
- Visual Research: Look for fashion inspiration on Pinterest and Vogue.
- Sketching: Rough out poses and outfits.
- Digital Art: Use Procreate or a similar program to bring it all together.
- Color Palettes: Create mood boards based on the zodiac elements.
- Finishing Touches: Add fonts, symbols, and text.
Things I Learned
Biggest takeaway? Don’t be afraid to try something new! I’m not a professional illustrator or anything, but I learned a lot just by experimenting and pushing myself. Also, Pinterest is your best friend. Seriously. And finally, good music and snacks are essential for any creative project.
